  8. I know yesterday we definitely talked about, um, just going
  9. over classroom expectations.
  10. What, like Zoom is gonna be, like, turned in classwork.
  11. I want to go over that again for some of
  12. us. They couldn't join us yesterday, so this video may
  13. feel like a repeat, but pay attention because you never
  14. know where it may pop up again.
  15. Okay, so just follow along with me.
  16. Today may be different in the way I present different
  17. things. So, yeah.
  18. Here we go.
  19. Um, like I say yesterday, this is theater one on
  20. one class.
  21. It is a new experience for me to teach you
  22. guys virtually.
  23. I'm excited.
  24. My hair is always on 1000.
  25. I usually don't get brave.
  26. I just usually that it just look crazy.
  27. And while so, yeah, um I'm going to move on
  28. and go to the next slide I think that's everything
  29. that I talked about yesterday.
  30. I'm not really sure.
  31. Um so here we go.
  32. So top by his own rules, these are just so
  33. few rules that I want you to pay attention to
  34. As we start navigating the zoom world.
  35. I feel like if we do this, we will continue
  36. to have so much fun, and everyone would be great.
  37. So just to go over it.
  38. So muting your mic and turning on your video at
  39. certain moments I may ask you to do this is
  40. not to embarrass you is just to engage with you
  41. in this virtual experience because we're not in person.
  42. Most of the stuff that we would already be doing
  43. will be doing the same thing in class.
  44. So all you have to do is just have fun.
  45. Future Mike, When I tell you Muted, turn your video
  46. when I tell you, turn your video own and engage
  47. in that way makes you always pay attention and participate.
  48. But this is a participation class.
  49. It's mostly built on you participating, getting up, engaging.
  50. I know we're not in the classroom or in the
  51. school, but I still want you guys to feel like
  52. you can engage and learn theater and jump up and
  53. do different things.
  54. So I would ask you pay attention, cause we will
  55. also have different videos, different modules with quizzes and different
  56. assignments. All of that is gonna be important as we
  57. start navigating this virtual experience asking questions, yes, you can
  58. ask whatever questions you want as long as this in
  59. the check.
  60. Make sure you ask questions in the chat on Lee
  61. Onley questions.
  62. I want to reserve that space just for questions.
  63. Therefore, you have a question Someone else may, um, can
  64. answer it or not that they can answer.
  65. But I can answer, and they can see the answer
  66. to that question.
  67. If you do, you have anything you want to share
  68. with us.
  69. You could raise your hand to speak, and I will
  70. give you that privilege just because you raise your hand
  71. to speak.
  72. I mean, I ask you to turn on your video.
  73. You may be able to just tunnel your mike and
  74. answer whatever the question is, and we go with that
  75. and then also be respectful, being very respectful to each
  76. other. We are a family.
  77. We are in this together until we get back in
  78. their school.
  79. That's just how we communicate.
  80. So be nice to everyone.
  81. Everybody is gonna be in different spaces.
  82. Everybody's gonna be having different things going on their life.
  83. So I just want you guys to be nice to
  84. each other and be respectful.
  85. And half my class is going to be so much
  86. fun. Trust me, I'm doing everything I can to make
  87. this class for next life.
  88. So some fun facts about me.
  89. I kind of went over this yesterday, but I'm gonna
  90. go over it again.
  91. Maybe it'll be a different delivery of how I'm presenting
  92. it to you.
  93. So a little bit about me where I'm from.
  94. I'm originally from Dallas, Texas, but I grew up in
  95. this South.
  96. Yes. You may hear that Southern accent a little bit.
  97. Y'all and her and what you're doing.
  98. Hey, what's up, man?
  99. Like that's, you know, some Memphis globally ISMs.
  100. So you have a CE faras education.

  102. with the high school in Mississippi, Got my associates degree
  103. in communications at East Mississippi Community College.
  104. There, I kind of fell in love with theater.
  105. I wanted to major and dance, but I end up
  106. going to University of Memphis on a here's scholarship.
  107. Our addition And they gave me a full scholarship.
  108. Get a full scholarship for acting up so pants.
  109. And because you never know, it may help you out
  110. in the long run against your full scholarship.
  111. In college, while I was a university, Memphis idea, major
  112. in theater got my bachelor of fine arts there.
  113. I minored in dance, but I still went to dance.
  114. So have, like, a little bit of ballet trained, a
  115. little bit of jazz, a little bit of a hit
  116. pop. You know our stuff.
  117. Yeah. Um, so you are is all me.
  118. And then also after I left University, Memphis are when
  119. I got my master's degree in theater.
  120. Yes, I love here I am on artists.
  121. All day long I went, I got my masters of
  122. firing arts in theater, and then I also got a
  123. graduate certification in African American theater history.
  124. That's just like a little salt and pepper fit that
  125. degree. So, yeah, I'm artists all day long.
  126. Since then, I've been working in different theaters.
  127. I've been acting a little bit.
  128. Hopefully, I'll be able to show you guys some of
  129. my short film projects.

  149. I finally watched it.
  150. I do not like sauce cake.
  151. If you watched the show, he did a lot of
  152. crime. He was all over the place.
  153. Um, yeah, I watch your show.
  154. Asked him on people watching.
  155. It's pretty cool.
  156. If not, there's a way to get over.
  157. You can watch it.
  158. Oh, what else have I watched?
  159. Um, yeah, that guess.

  181. 101 voter.
  182. And that's where it will house all of your homework.
  183. Um uh, Probably give you one homework assignment.
  184. A week would be a Google form.
  185. All you gotta do is click type it and keep
  186. it moving.
  187. Zone poll.
  188. Is your classwork so like today?
  189. Or like yesterday, when we did it?
  190. You'll see that I'll give you a poll to do,
  191. and you'll just answer the questions.
  192. That's part of your participation.
  193. Great. And also part of your life.
  194. We is great.
  195. So make sure that you engage knows if they probably
  196. know screen.
  197. Try to answer the question, trying to be here for
  198. class because I can't repost that poll zoom participation.
  199. That means getting in front of the camera, jumping up,
  200. doing whatever I asked you to do whatever activity we
  201. have. Like I said before, this is a participation class.
  202. I really need job to get up, get to movement.
  203. If I say get up and move, Um, yes, Every
  204. Friday you will have a performance to do.
  205. You will unload that performance.
  206. You will also perform in front of the class, but
  207. you will have on city in the Friday evening to
  208. post your performance.
  209. Performance is usually no longer than 32 a minute as
  210. faras like Time West, so you should be able to
  211. knock that out.
  212. That is your test grade.
  213. So you scared of being on camera?
  214. I don't know what to tell you, because you have
  215. to get on camera at some point, whether it's in
  216. front of me, our friend, the class.
  217. But all of that goes together, so make sure you
  218. upload your performance to the Google folder, Bonus credit or
  219. contest Tic Tacs.
  220. If you have a tic tac.
  221. This will be great for you.
  222. I will.
  223. I like to war people.
  224. I like to give out prizes.
  225. So I know we're virtually I won't be able to
  226. see you in person, but you'll see in the Google
  227. form that it would be a little, uh, message A
  228. little check box for you to say.
  229. If you win a prize cannot send it to your
  230. house. So make sure that whenever I have any bonus
  231. credit or whether it's for points or whether it is
  232. for actual price, make sure that you, um do it.
  233. I mean, why not?
  234. It's free.
  235. You know?
  236. I want to help you guys.
  237. What? You guys have fun.
  238. Like I says, classes will be fine.
  239. Um, and being off course, the lead walk theater instagram
  240. account. That's where I showcase talent.
  241. So it's not to say that if you don't make
  242. it your not talented, that's just where I showcase maybe
  243. some good videos that people might have uploaded on or
  244. collage. You can go back to the Tic Tac or
  245. the Instagram.
  246. It sleepwalk theater and review past videos from other students.
  247. So yeah, next eso Bailey this will basically be our
  248. timeframe for him.
  249. Like my class.
  250. Every day I will take attendance for the first five
  251. minutes that you that will give you time to basically
  252. use the bathroom.
  253. Go grab something to eat really quickly not to eat
  254. the whole time, my class.
  255. And also it just gives you like a like, a
  256. few moments to just kind of breathing between sessions.
  257. Because I know with you being the class all day
  258. signifier of computer, it's a lot going on.
  259. You could probably tired of it.
  260. I would be tired of it.
  261. I understand.
  262. I feel your pain.
  263. I definitely did it.
  264. I'll take online classes right now, so I know how
  265. hard it is.
  266. And you're trying to get a second masses and my
  267. teacher certification a ce far as lectures.
  268. This is the lecture video.
  269. So any time I'm teaching you guys, it will be
  270. in this format.
  271. Um, where it will be a video that you can
  272. go back and find later in your folder.
  273. Um, classwork and resource.
  274. That will be 15 minutes.
  275. So that would be some type of engaging video that
  276. I may have you watch for some type of, um,
  277. resource, whether it is a video is a picture or
  278. is some type of engagement.
  279. But that would be your class or live application is
  280. when we turn this video off and we get up
  281. and we do something engaging with each other.
  282. So I'm gonna try Limit.
  283. That's about 15 minutes a day from my class, where
  284. we'll have the video and will be gay engaging with
  285. each other.
  286. And then there are many time will be a transition
  287. and questions.
  288. So that would be the time when you have any
  289. questions, whether it's class related, night class related.
  290. Or you can ask those questions at the end of
  291. class and the and I'll also be chillin with you
  292. until you transition to your next class on the next
  293. teacher comes in cool.
  294. Next, lad.
  295. All right, So yeah, everything will be located in your
  296. Google class on Theater 101 older.
  297. Make sure you look at the syllabus.
  298. Share the syllabus with your mom, your dad, your parents,
  299. everybody make sure they know what's going on.
  300. I also upload these lecture and resource videos for you
  301. guys to watch so safe you miss classy whenever they
  302. log on, you'll be able to steal.
  303. See, these videos, which you won't be ever do, is
  304. still participate in the poll with just part of your
  305. class or agree.
  306. So try to make sure that you hear every day
  307. at the designated time for your class section.
  308. Um, homework assignments.
  309. Like I said, I will try and give you one
  310. of those a week that also be located in the
  311. Google full folder on directions for performance.
  312. Whatever performance that we have for that week, the directions
  313. for that performance will also be in the voter.
  314. If I give you a theater challenge, I'm running some
  315. type of contest.
  316. You will also see that in the Google folder.
  317. Um, so, yeah, everything will be located Google folder.
  318. If you need help with that, you can hit me
  319. up off line.
  320. I ask you, um, that we have regarding to contact
  321. me, and I help you guys with that because I'm
  322. also the technology guy for lead walk.
  323. So yeah, cool.
  324. Next slide.
  325. OK, so we did a game yesterday.
  326. We did our name.
  327. We did a gesture.
  328. Today you guys will be watching in the next classwork
  329. resource video you will be watching.
  330. Um Ah, a woman.
  331. A woman that I created on.
  332. And then it also have, like, a tic tac challenge
  333. at the end of it that she could start for
  334. this week.
  335. First contest.
  336. Make sure you guys engage in it.
  337. But the reason why theatre practitioners do woman is toe
  338. want their body and then also to locally, um, just
  339. want their body because you like to wake up like
  340. sometimes in your voice is real deep or you're groggy.
  341. You gotta get that energy up, get round up so
  342. you'll see that I have a theater warm up for
  343. us to try and get up and do so you'll
  344. watch the video try and pay attention to most of
  345. it. So when we start actually getting up in doing
  346. it for the life application car, you guys are not
  347. like I don't know what's going on.
  348. So yeah, like I said yesterday, I'm excited.
  349. This year is gonna be fun, and you've got a
  350. great theater teacher.
  351. I'm gonna be killing it for you guys.
  352. If you have any questions, any kind of, um no
  353. comments or something that you want to add.
  354. You can add that in the chat.
  355. Make sure that she hits your boy.
  356. Uh, go back to the first line.
  357. The, uh, because his theater 101 with Mr Davis.
  358. Oh, yeah, friend.
  359. When I got to say in the last video yesterday,
  360. I mentioned that I want to start a drone clip.
  361. So think about that for in the spring, cause I'm
  362. sure we'll be back into the schools if we're not
  363. being weird about that next year.
  364. But signing off?
  365. I enjoyed your guys to next time.
