  4. by his brothers.

  6. be found under the, you see in the same name.
  7. Of course I have added the versus aligned in the
  8. bible under additional resources.
  9. And um, please make sure to go through the tutorial
  10. uh, and the slide chair for more info.
  11. If you click on the discussion box, that will take
  12. you to the story and then that will help you
  13. out with the further practice and challenging question.
  14. Also make sure to take the self assessment.
  15. So let's start off together the summary of joseph being
  16. sold into slavery.
  17. Joseph was sold by his brothers.
  18. Joseph's father sent him into the fields to go check
  19. on his brothers.
  20. As his brothers saw him approaching, they plotted to kill
  21. him out of jealousy because their father favored him.
  22. When joseph approached his brothers, they stripped him of his
  23. rope, the ornate rope he was wearing and they took
  24. him and threw him into the system.
  25. This can be found in genesis 37 23 to 24.
  26. As the brothers were eating their meal, they saw Midnight's
  27. who were heading to Egypt.
  28. Instead of killing joseph, they decided to sell him to
  29. uh Midnight's who took him to Egypt.
  30. His father tore his clothes when he was told that
  31. joseph died, The midnight sold Joseph in Egypt, one of
  32. the paras officials, the captain of the guards.
  33. And this can be found in Genesis, 37 36.
  34. After joseph was brought to by the party for joseph
  35. was put in charge of Petit offers household.
  36. From the time he put him in charge of the
  37. household and all of that, he owned.
  38. The Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of
  39. joseph. In genesis 39 5, the master's wife noticed joseph
  40. and kept asking him to be with her.
  41. And joseph continually said no, joseph went to the house
  42. to do his job and no one was around except
  43. for part of his wife.
  44. She grabbed his cloak and again asked him to be
  45. with her, and instead he ran away, leaving his cloak.
  46. She told the master that joseph tried to be with
  47. her, and joseph was thrown in jail, eventually being put
  48. in charge of watching over the prisoners.
  49. Joseph was sold into slavery, where him and other slaves
  50. were the lowest group of people in the society.
  51. Class slaves were below Peru's priests, nobles, those who provide
  52. rich and powerful in Egypt, such as the merchants and
  53. peasant farmers.
  54. Women in Egypt 10, many rights for their day, which
  55. gave part of his wife the reliability to make the
  56. claim against joseph about him, forcing himself upon other societies
  57. of that time.
  58. Men most likely wouldn't believe those claims by women, but
  59. women in Egypt had a higher stand relationship to our
  60. faith. Joseph story connects to our faith because throughout all
  61. of joseph's many struggles he remained faithful and and God
  62. remained in control.
  63. Also, joseph showed hard work like God instructs in the
  64. Gospel and rewarded joseph by making him head of the
  65. slaves. We know that if we obey and have faith
  66. in God like joseph, God wouldn't let our work go
  67. unnoticed. But we will reward us either now and for
  68. eternity like he promises.
  69. Even though the world may seem like it's against us,
  70. God is always for us and in control.
  71. So everybody, we have reached the end of our video
  72. for today.
  73. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask or
  74. send a message through the U.
  75. C. Have a lovely day and thanks for listening.
