00:00 - 00:03
Hello. I'm gonna be presenting my family project.
00:04 - 00:07
So first I'm gonna start with who I consider my family to be.
00:08 - 00:13
Just like I have in my other reports. I put my family to three different sections.
00:13 - 00:16
So first I have my family that's in Texas, which is my mom,
00:16 - 00:18
my stepdad and my two siblings.
00:19 - 00:21
Then here locally I have my dad
00:21 - 00:23
and then I have my grandma who we actually
00:23 - 00:25
refer to his mom and my little sister Olivia.
00:26 - 00:29
And then the ones that I see every day are my boyfriend Dylan.
00:29 - 00:31
And then I included my dog Rocket as part of my
00:31 - 00:34
family as well because he's like a baby to me.
00:36 - 00:38
So now we're gonna move on to my family genogram.
00:38 - 00:41
I included the same one that I had submitted previously
00:41 - 00:44
just because the key and everything was set already.
00:45 - 00:51
Um You can see everyone's Children, you can see who's married, who's separated,
00:51 - 00:52
who doesn't speak anymore.
00:52 - 00:54
And then in the bubble,
00:54 - 00:58
I put my sister and her family because they were estranged for about two years.
00:59 - 01:01
They reconnected and then I actually haven't spoken
01:01 - 01:04
to her again in about another two years.
01:04 - 01:06
They kind of pick and choose when they want to speak.
01:06 - 01:08
And it was a really stressful situation.
01:09 - 01:10
So I put them in their own little bubble.
01:12 - 01:16
Now, for family stories, I had included my birth story,
01:16 - 01:20
my mom and my dad's upbringing, the whole situation that occurred with my sister.
01:20 - 01:22
And then my story as I see it. Now
01:22 - 01:24
for my birth story
01:25 - 01:27
in the reading, we had said how
01:27 - 01:30
our birth stories are really important for us to hear.
01:30 - 01:31
And I find that really true because
01:32 - 01:35
my mom told me this story a lot as I grew up and I feel like it,
01:35 - 01:38
let me feel really loved and supported
01:38 - 01:41
just because she told me everyone was so excited for me to come.
01:41 - 01:44
And they had been like wanting another child.
01:45 - 01:49
Now for my parents, I included how they had struggles growing up.
01:50 - 01:54
My mom's mother wasn't very nurturing to her
01:54 - 01:59
and she was gone a lot all the time because her husband had left her
02:00 - 02:04
and then my dad, his father was an alcoholic. So they actually had to leave him
02:04 - 02:07
when my father was a young boy as well.
02:08 - 02:10
And then my dad became the man of the house
02:10 - 02:14
as a little kid and had to like provide income to his house as well.
02:14 - 02:17
Even just starting like selling flowers on the side of the street.
02:17 - 02:20
For my sister's story, I just expressed how
02:20 - 02:23
we're not close and I kind of wish that we were.
02:24 - 02:27
Um but I just feel like she's changed completely as a person.
02:27 - 02:30
And even though I don't include her as part of my family
02:30 - 02:32
in the previous slides,
02:32 - 02:35
I just feel like it was just such a big impact on me.
02:35 - 02:38
So I felt the need to share that story.
02:38 - 02:39
And for my story,
02:39 - 02:43
I just wanted to express how I feel like I've had such a
02:43 - 02:46
good foundation and I'm a really good product of everyone around me.
02:49 - 02:52
Survey results. So for everyone in Texas,
02:52 - 02:55
I kind of got the feeling that my mom runs the household.
02:55 - 02:58
My stepdad said how his what he looks forward
02:58 - 03:02
to coming home is seeing his wife and his supporter
03:03 - 03:06
and my brother and sister kept telling me that
03:06 - 03:08
they were trying to think and answer the questions
03:09 - 03:13
in my mom's mentality. Even as much as I told them, it had to be in their own answer.
03:13 - 03:16
Everyone's definition kind of varied on who family is.
03:16 - 03:20
Um for my family in Texas, it was more like who's inside their household.
03:20 - 03:22
For my sister, Olivia,
03:22 - 03:27
she kind of considered who she sees more often and included her friends in there.
03:27 - 03:29
And then my dad and my boyfriend actually went
03:29 - 03:32
a little more extended with their cousins as well.
03:33 - 03:35
But overall, everyone just said that
03:35 - 03:37
they love the support and comfort they get
03:37 - 03:39
from their family and having that unconditional love.
03:42 - 03:45
Our mission statement. Um pretty much
03:45 - 03:47
all the way around no matter who I spoke to.
03:47 - 03:52
We just want to be a good person in life, have a happy and successful life.
03:52 - 03:55
And I asked them to like what success means. But
03:55 - 03:57
my little brother just simply stated,
03:57 - 04:00
he just wants to feel happy to him that's successful.
04:00 - 04:04
Like as long as he's doing a job where he doesn't hate it and he feels happy,
04:04 - 04:06
he feels like he's done when he needs to
04:07 - 04:08
and the president were great.
04:08 - 04:12
But in the future, I would definitely like to feel a lot closer to my siblings.
04:12 - 04:16
So I've been making that effort by texting and reaching out to them first.
04:18 - 04:21
Now I've included photos so you can get some visuals.
04:21 - 04:23
So this is my boyfriend Dylan and then my doggie Rocket.
04:25 - 04:28
Now I have my mom's side of the family so you can see my mom,
04:28 - 04:33
Emily Ernie and my stepdad and then his son or my mom with her grandson
04:33 - 04:34
Rocket.
04:36 - 04:38
And then from my dad's side, I included my dad,
04:39 - 04:40
my little sister.
04:40 - 04:42
And then the second photo is my grandma who
04:42 - 04:44
referred to his mom and again my little sister
04:47 - 04:50
and that's my family project. Thank you.
