  75. plays a role.
  76. Now we will dive in to self control and personalities
  77. within the advertising world do personalities influence being affected by
  78. advertisements? And is advertising influencing a loss of self control?
  79. These air two big questions that we need to answer.
  80. Let's start with the personality question.
  81. It does not matter what type of personality you have.
  82. Advertising influences everyone.
  83. People with low self esteem fall into the trap of
  84. advertising for self fulfillment.
  85. And on the other hand, people with high self esteem
  86. are influenced for the purpose of success.
  87. Just because you have a bunch of different people with
  88. different personalities does not mean that anyone is free from
  89. the desire of advertisement.
  90. Almost every single human falls into the trap of advertising,
  91. and your personality does not influence that.
  92. Now let's dig into the self control question, which is,
  93. is advertising influencing a loss of self control?
  94. For the individual, the short answer is yes.
  95. Humanity will buy what they want, even if they do
  96. not need anything.
  97. Consumers strive to feel good about themselves.
  98. Attractive products serve this desire to self enhanced by boosting
  99. self views, distracted consumers from their threats and signaling desired
  100. qualities to self and others.
  101. Ah scripture relating to self control is Proverbs 25 28
  102. which talks about that A man without self control is
  103. like a city with broken down walls.
  104. I know for a fact that I have definitely been
  105. in situations where I feel like I don't have the
  106. self control to say no to certain draws of advertising.
  107. Do you feel the same?
  108. An increased desire to sell, fulfill and self enhance leads
  109. to a decrease in self control.
  110. This is an extremely important quote, Prezi, you know, now
  111. that we've hit on self control and personalities in the
  112. advertising world.
  113. Finally we get to talk about the biblical world view
  114. on advertising, advertising and the purpose thereof is not driven
  115. by God.
  116. It is a way of this world.
  117. Humanity is being swayed by this industry.
  118. Advertising makes us crave the things of this world.
  119. Advertising has indeed rewired humanities brain.
  120. This is not what God intended for us.
  121. God did not intend for us.
  122. Toe have this overwhelming desire and compulsive need to buy
  123. things or to seek for the new thing.
  124. God taught us to be content to be grateful for
  125. what we already have and the verses Circle head on
  126. these different things to be content with only food and
  127. clothing. Toe love God more than the things of this
  128. world thes versus air Very important.
  129. And I would highly encourage you to dig into these
  130. on your own time.
  131. Now, the last question and the biggest question for Christians
  132. is how do we live?
  133. Wisely in a world full of advertising in a world
  134. full of advertisements trying to grab our attention, Take our
  135. money claims satisfaction.
  136. How do we live wisely in this world, don't you?
  137. Let's start with Scripture and those who belong to Christ
  138. Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
  139. Galatians 5 24 Those who belong to Christ, they have
  140. given up their own passions and desires of the flesh,
  141. Passions and desires of the flesh Could be wanting this
  142. next big thing this next big item craving close spending
  143. all of your free time and money going shopping instead
  144. of giving to the poor.
  145. But this verse says that if we belong to Jesus
  146. Christ, we have crucified our passions and desires on the
  147. cross. And now we can adopt the passions and desires
  148. that God can give us some daily practices to avoid
  149. falling into the trap of advertising, even though sometimes it
  150. is inevitable.
  151. But these Air Cem daily practices that can help us
  152. live wisely in this world and to put God first
  153. weaken, die toe are selfish desires daily, we can say
  154. noted the things of this world and yes, to the
  155. things of God.
  156. We can practice contentment.
  157. We can look around at what we have and just
  158. breathe being thankful and being content, not craving more, not
  159. rushing to get the new thing.
  160. But just being content with everything that you have and
  161. that goes hand in hand with being grateful.
  162. We must be grateful for the things that we have.
  163. Practicing gratitude and practicing contentment go hand in hand.
  164. We need to seek the will of God in our
  165. life. When it comes to those moments of trying to
  166. decide if we're going to buy this or by that
  167. or go there or order something online, we need to
  168. seek the will of God in those moments.
  169. God, Is this what you want me to dio?
  170. Do you want me to buy this?
  171. Do I need this?
  172. What would you have me do in this situation?
  173. Those are all good questions that you can ask.
  174. Finally, we must identify the lies that advertisements, brain advertisements
  175. claim to bring satisfaction.
  176. Joy, happiness, glory, success.
  177. All of these things air, lies everything that advertisements, advertisements
  178. claim to bring our lies Everything that they claim to
  179. bring our things for temporary pleasure and satisfaction.
  180. Nothing holds strong.
  181. Nothing lasts.
  182. All of these products will soon fade away.
  183. We needed to understand that.
  184. True satisfaction, true joy, true contentment and gratitude on Lee
  185. come from God and not from materialistic goods and the
  186. practice of consumerism.
  187. Now, this is how advertising is rewiring the human brain.
  188. We were not created it to crave things of this
  189. world. But advertising has made us not Onley crave things
  190. but love the things of this world.
  191. And that is not what God called us to as
  192. Christians. Thank you for watching and for listening.
