how are you guys?

I'm Gwen, Dylan lee riggs or MS riggs um Or

you can come in the sunshine.

Really? That's what people call me sometimes.

I don't know why I made because I smile a

lot better.

Anyway, here's a little bit more about me.

I am not married and I don't have any kids

on my own, but I think I have about 400

of you guys, so I think that'll be fun.

I do however, have four pets.

I have a cat named Mazie, she's named after the

music group Mazzy Star, a cat named Gabby because she

talks a lot and a cat named smitten kitten, or

smitty, the kitty and a dog named fable because she

has a story to tell.

So this is Mazie and Gabby.

Mazie always looks like she's into something because she usually

is, she's precious.

And one time she stole that yard right there and

she went all the way down the stairs and I

found the yarn and followed it all the way down

the stairs into the bedroom and she stayed like that

until I ran upstairs to get my picture.

She thinks she's adorable for real and then there's Gabby.

I don't know why, but Gabby, she always always looks

like she's terrified.

I don't know why because she's perfectly fine, but she's

always concerned about something and it's pretty funny.

So those are my two tortoiseshell cats and then there's

fable. My dog fable.

She's really not my dog anymore because my nephew adopted

her now I guess I was just fostering her for

quite a few years anyway, If you'll notice this is

how she came to me, she doesn't look very healthy,

does she?

And she wasn't, somebody hadn't taken care of her at

all. She had these three puppies and she had all

those bones showing somebody had not been feeding her, taking

good care of her.

So I took care of her, got her puppies all

adopted and this is what table looks like now.

I think she looks a lot better, don't you?

And she's happier than any dog I've ever seen and

she loves my nephew so much.

And so let's see, I'll show you a little bit

more about me real quick.

Um, this is me when I was little Yeah, I

guess I used to wear cowboy boots and a hat.

Anyway, that kid behind me.

Yeah, I know he's picking his nose dude chris Anyway,

this is me, my brother and my little sister in

the background.

I don't know why I look like that, but anyway,

we all go through those awkward years, makes me laugh

to look at that picture.

Now this is me in high school at prom, which

you might get to go to someday.

I'm in the blue dress and I made a few

good friends in high school and then I went on

to college.

Let's see one other thing about me is I love

art, I've loved art since I was a little bitty

and in high school I started babysitting and this is

when I figured out, I think I want to teach

art for the rest of my life, when I would

babysit, I would always bring an art babysitter bag that

had tons of art supplies in it and the kids

and I would just play and do art.

And then by the end of the first summer of

babysitting I had so many kids that I decided to

have a big, huge art party and we had splatter

painting and all kinds of crazy outdoor art fun.

And um anyway, right then and there I knew I

wanted to teach kids art for the rest of my

life And I was only 16 at the time, so

that's me in the white shirt with the orange arrow

and my little sister is the one in the blue

bathing suit right beside me and my brother with the

crazy hair, the one who's staring at me with a

funny look.

Yeah, he is, lives in Canada, but let's see, my

sister is also an art teacher as well.

Now this is some of the art that I've done

over the years.

I thought you might be interested in seeing some of

that. Minecraft.

I do crafting, I do all kinds of stuff over

camps and I had to art studios, one in Tyler

called the Crown Box studio and one in Longview called

the Sunshine art studio and there's some of my kids

artwork that I have done over the years.

We had lots of parties and fun too.

So now I'm here in Tyler texas and at my

last school I got smitten the kitten totally by accident.

He was in the back of in the engine of

some one's car and it wasn't their cat.

And so I just took him home for the weekend

and then my dog fell in love with him and

then so did I.

So now he is my third cat smith in the

kitchen or smitty the kitty, isn't he cute?

Mhm. So anyway, I thought you guys would enjoy a

little bit about me.

So here are some questions people ask me all the

time. What do I like to do?

Well, I love to do art and read and watch

movies. I love to play games with my family and

friends, pretty much like you do probably.

And my favorite food is mexican food.

I could probably eat it every day, but I don't

and tacos are especially great.

Anyway, my favorite color is I think you probably figure

it out if you look around.

If you have anything questions about that, we'll talk and

how old am I?

People always want to know any guesses?

Well, we'll talk about that a little more to And

how many years have I taught, officially?

I've taught art for 20 years.

But As you have heard earlier, I've been teaching art

since I was 16 and I am from Tyler texas,

that's where I was born.

But I lived some of my life in Houston texas

and in Longview as well.

So why do I like art?

Because it shows us who we are as humans throughout

history, the good and the bad and sometimes just because

it's beautiful or interesting.

I hope you guys enjoyed this little presentation.

I just wanted to show you a little bit about

me and I really am excited about having art at

coal at at caldwell Arts Academy.

It's very cool to meet you guys and I can't

wait for this year to begin now.

I'm going to stop this video, but the class, it's

just beginning.
