00:01 - 00:03
Hi everyone, this is Hannah Carlisle and this is my
00:03 - 00:06
now plan um the first thing I will start with,
00:07 - 00:11
my milestone, so my two significant milestones are the first
00:11 - 00:13
one is meeting my best friend Jenna, we met me
00:13 - 00:16
about seven playing soccer and she has just been like
00:16 - 00:18
a sister, her family and my family have become best
00:18 - 00:21
friends and so she is just kind of grown up
00:21 - 00:23
alongside of me and challenged me in a lot of
00:23 - 00:26
ways and so that is my first milestone and then
00:26 - 00:29
my second milestone is studying abroad in South Africa.
00:30 - 00:31
When I was an undergrad at E P.
00:31 - 00:34
U, I was able to go to the Pietermaritzburg South
00:34 - 00:36
Africa and stay for three months and that just really
00:36 - 00:38
changed my outlook on the world and what I want
00:39 - 00:39
to do as far as teaching.
00:40 - 00:42
Um I learned that teaching is a ministry and I
00:42 - 00:44
also learned that I have a heart for maybe being
00:44 - 00:47
a missionary And Teaching Abroad one Day, so that has
00:47 - 00:51
been a really big change in my life And those
00:51 - 00:52
are my two significant milestones.
00:53 - 00:56
So my first redirect number one, um that leads you
00:56 - 00:59
back to the scripture, John 13 which says through him,
00:59 - 01:02
all things were made without him, nothing was made.
01:02 - 01:04
That has been made John 1 3.
01:04 - 01:08
And so that scripture, um, I'm reminded of when I
01:08 - 01:08
watch Sunset.
01:09 - 01:10
So my resource for this one is watching Sunsets.
01:11 - 01:13
Um, and yeah, that just brings you back to the
01:13 - 01:15
fact that the Lord has made everything and how can
01:15 - 01:17
we not look at a sunset and see the Lord's
01:17 - 01:18
work in that.
01:19 - 01:21
And it redirects me back to having a bigger perspective.
01:22 - 01:27
And so whenever I am feeling really overwhelmed or stressed
01:27 - 01:30
out watching the sunset just helps me to remember that.
01:30 - 01:32
My problems are small in comparison to how big the
01:32 - 01:33
Lord is.
01:33 - 01:35
And so it just gives me that bigger perspective on
01:35 - 01:35
my life.
01:36 - 01:40
And then my second resource Guys back to the scripture
01:41 - 01:43
that says rejoice in the Lord Always and again I
01:43 - 01:45
say rejoice which is Philippians 44.
01:47 - 01:49
And talking with my mom got me back to that
01:49 - 01:51
scripture. Um here's a picture of us on my graduation
01:52 - 01:55
day and then every drives me back to joy.
01:55 - 01:57
And so just the season of being able to be
01:57 - 01:58
back at home, being with my mom.
01:59 - 02:00
Um and my dad at home has just been awesome
02:01 - 02:03
and just whenever I'm feeling stressed or overwhelmed, it's just
02:04 - 02:05
so good to talk with her and just stress.
02:06 - 02:09
Um and yeah, having conversations with her truly being my
02:09 - 02:11
best friend just really brings you back to joy.
02:12 - 02:15
That's a big blessing in my life right now and
02:15 - 02:18
then my now plan I'm here in my steps.
02:19 - 02:22
So I find myself a lot of times drifting and
02:22 - 02:25
my thoughts towards the future and just really being future
02:25 - 02:28
minded, especially these days in the period of the in
02:28 - 02:30
between subbing but not quite credential yet.
02:31 - 02:31
I'm still in school.
02:31 - 02:35
So mine first starts with me capturing my thoughts so
02:35 - 02:36
I find myself thinking about the future I freeze.
02:37 - 02:38
So that's why I wanted my now plan to start.
02:39 - 02:42
And then the second thing I'll do is let those
02:42 - 02:42
thoughts drift away.
02:43 - 02:45
That's something that the third graders that I said before
02:45 - 02:48
learning about with mindfulness and so I kind of adopted
02:48 - 02:50
that into my plan because I've seen them go through
02:50 - 02:51
it and been teaching that with them.
02:52 - 02:53
Um and so I want to include that in my
02:54 - 02:54
own plan.
02:54 - 02:56
And then the third thing is just to refocus on
02:56 - 02:57
the moment currently happening.
02:58 - 03:00
So I just got myself back to but now and
03:01 - 03:04
the present and then remind myself at this moment is
03:04 - 03:06
fleeting, so I need to enjoy it and that I
03:06 - 03:08
should want to enjoy it because it is here and
03:08 - 03:11
now and then um I thought would be really cool
03:11 - 03:14
to start journaling about my favorite, mundane moments each week
03:14 - 03:17
and just reminding myself that even the little things can
03:17 - 03:18
bring joy and are really incredible.
03:19 - 03:21
Um and so I would just love to write those
03:21 - 03:22
down each week and just keep a journal of those
03:23 - 03:24
that I can go back to and remind myself when
03:24 - 03:27
I started thinking about the future and how awesome it
03:27 - 03:27
will be.
03:27 - 03:29
I can go back and remind myself that that every
03:29 - 03:30
day is awesome as well.
03:31 - 03:32
And then the last thing would be just to pray
03:32 - 03:35
and thank the Lord for my current breath and ask
03:35 - 03:36
that he continued to guide my steps.
03:36 - 03:39
So just reminding myself that the Lord has my plans
03:39 - 03:41
in control and he knows what's going to happen and
03:41 - 03:41
I don't.
03:42 - 03:45
Um And so this is my now plan currently as
03:45 - 03:48
my life changes, I might need to adjust this a
03:48 - 03:50
little bit um And maybe it won't so much be
03:50 - 03:52
thoughts but be the next job or the next promotion
03:53 - 03:53
and things like that.
03:53 - 03:55
And so I just remind myself that I can alter
03:56 - 03:56
this a little bit.
03:57 - 03:58
Um And I could alter it by adding in maybe
03:59 - 04:02
some of my resources, my redirect sprinkled throughout.
04:02 - 04:05
Um That's the way that I could alter this plan
04:05 - 04:07
as I progress and see if it's working for me
04:07 - 04:08
after a couple months.
04:08 - 04:11
Um And once I'm done with school I'll take a
04:11 - 04:13
relook at it and see if I can adjust it
04:13 - 04:15
in any way to continue to impact me.
04:15 - 04:17
Because I think that this plan will really help me
04:17 - 04:18
to stay in the moment right now.
04:19 - 04:20
Um And so I want to make sure that I'm
04:20 - 04:22
continually changing it to continue to be in the moment.
04:23 - 04:27
Always. Mm And then I have a thing called now.
04:28 - 04:28
What? So these are my reflections.
04:29 - 04:32
So as far as my personal faith, um this has
04:32 - 04:35
really impacted me in the fact that I need to
04:35 - 04:35
be patient.
04:36 - 04:38
And so I think I'm learning right now about patients
04:38 - 04:40
and what that looks like and how I can learn
04:41 - 04:42
that quality from the Lord.
04:42 - 04:45
And so really patients has been a recurring theme in
04:46 - 04:49
my life during this credential program as I'm continuing wanting
04:49 - 04:50
to look to the future, but needing to be patient
04:51 - 04:52
and needing to be just soaking in the moment now.
04:53 - 04:56
Um And then the impact on my teaching, I think
04:56 - 04:59
I'm learning that um even though I'm not fully credentialed
04:59 - 05:01
yet, I am able to make an impact on the
05:01 - 05:03
student's lives in the stabbing that I'm able to do
05:03 - 05:06
and on the observation hours and the clinical practice that
05:06 - 05:08
I'll get to do just having that outlook of I'm
05:08 - 05:10
still changing lives and that's why I wanted to go
05:10 - 05:13
to this profession in the first place, even though I'm
05:13 - 05:14
not getting paid for yet or I don't have my
05:14 - 05:17
credential yet, I can still impact these students and then
05:17 - 05:20
also seeing this as a mission field truly because I
05:20 - 05:22
get to administer to not only the kids in subtle
05:22 - 05:24
ways, but those around me on the school site, um
05:25 - 05:28
administration and fellow teachers and then as far as my
05:28 - 05:31
perspective is changing, um I think that I was really
05:31 - 05:33
stuck in that future mindset, especially this year.
05:34 - 05:35
And so this course has really caused me to slow
05:35 - 05:39
down to re look at my life and to really
05:39 - 05:41
reflect on those things that bring me back to the
05:41 - 05:42
Lord in the day to day moments.
05:42 - 05:44
And so I love getting to just write down all
05:44 - 05:47
my redirects, and then I found myself doing them more
05:47 - 05:49
often now that I've kind of named them and called
05:49 - 05:49
them out.
05:49 - 05:51
And so my perspective has changed in the fact that
05:52 - 05:54
mundane moments in everyday moments leading back to the Lord,
05:54 - 05:57
I don't need anything crazy or big to lead me
05:57 - 05:58
back to um to God.
06:00 - 06:02
And so that is the anti presentation.
06:02 - 06:04
Thank you for watching, I hope you enjoyed it.
