00:01 - 00:10
Good afternoon charlie Foster, so um yes, this is recorded,
00:10 - 00:13
but um we're still gonna have fun.
00:13 - 00:14
Okay,
00:14 - 00:18
so we are going to look at um just a few
00:18 - 00:23
different things that I think we need to kind of re examine
00:23 - 00:26
and do different than we did the last time.
00:26 - 00:29
Okay, so let's look at a couple of things we're gonna do.
00:29 - 00:35
So first of all I know that you know this movie, it's the sand lot.
00:35 - 00:39
If you don't know this movie, then you've got to go and and watch it.
00:39 - 00:44
Um so that um you will understand
00:44 - 00:51
that um anything is possible. That is the message in the sandlot movie.
00:52 - 00:53
So
00:54 - 01:00
once we do that, let me see if I can get one in the world.
01:01 - 01:01
Okay,
01:02 - 01:03
there we go,
01:04 - 01:04
sorry.
01:04 - 01:08
So once we do that, once we go and watch the sandlot,
01:08 - 01:13
then we know that everything is possible, we can do this
01:13 - 01:19
and we are going to just treat this as just another day on the calendar, it's s a T.
01:19 - 01:20
Is not that big a deal.
01:20 - 01:26
So the first thing that we need to really understand is that we have to be prepared,
01:26 - 01:33
you're making sure that you're coming to our classes um with everything done,
01:33 - 01:36
all your assignments done because the more you do, the more we,
01:36 - 01:37
you can get accomplished.
01:37 - 01:40
So if you come with your test done,
01:40 - 01:44
I can go ahead and score that test and put you on a different um task
01:44 - 01:48
while I'm scoring the test and we can get a lot accomplished um that way,
01:48 - 01:52
time management is the key and I know that you have got so much going on and trust me,
01:53 - 02:00
I do get that, I get that because Nicola is a gymnast, so, and she is all the time
02:00 - 02:03
um having to go here, there and everywhere, we're traveling all the time,
02:03 - 02:11
like you guys, um we, like even this season, we went um we went to Vegas two weeks ago,
02:11 - 02:14
um this thursday, we're headed to colorado,
02:14 - 02:18
two weeks from now to two weeks from when we get back, we're going to Tampa,
02:18 - 02:23
then we're going to Chattanooga's and Nicola is chat um is traveling and not just,
02:23 - 02:28
you know, like down the road, she's traveling a long way a lot and so because of that,
02:28 - 02:33
she has to make sure that her school and her studies and the things that she has to
02:33 - 02:40
get done is put in a time management plan and so that is very important for you guys,
02:40 - 02:42
especially as athletes,
02:42 - 02:46
to make sure that you have your time management down and you are,
02:46 - 02:49
you are doing doing things that are going to
02:49 - 02:53
make the most sense um for efficient time management.
02:53 - 02:57
Um sometimes a planner helps, I know that it helps for Nicola,
02:57 - 03:01
she gets to write down everything that she needs to do within a week and that
03:01 - 03:04
way she can look at her planner and she knows exactly what she's gotta do,
03:04 - 03:07
she can check off everything at that time.
03:07 - 03:11
Um so sometimes that'll help if it seems like something that might help for you
03:11 - 03:14
then that is something that I would suggest now one of the
03:14 - 03:19
things that we are doing this week is I am giving you a
03:19 - 03:23
eight week plan and so you're gonna print that eight week plan
03:23 - 03:26
out and you're gonna follow that eight week plan letter by letter.
03:26 - 03:32
Because although we have I think seven weeks until your test the eight
03:32 - 03:34
week plan will get us right to where we need to be.
03:34 - 03:37
So follow that plan
03:37 - 03:44
letter by letter. Um And I'm gonna explain more of that later in this video.
03:44 - 03:48
Okay so um just make sure that you print that a week plan out
03:48 - 03:52
and you understand all the things that you have to do each week.
03:52 - 03:53
Okay
03:54 - 03:59
so the next thing we'll look at is positive thinking
04:00 - 04:08
um I know you kids tend to um just hate everything in life right? Because nicolette.
04:08 - 04:10
This is another thing that I have to worry about with. Nicolette.
04:10 - 04:13
Everything is wrong, everything hurts.
04:13 - 04:19
Um She's dying and surely the entire world should know that.
04:19 - 04:25
Well I'm here to telling you that that everything is not wrong. You are not dying. S.
04:25 - 04:30
A. T. Is not that big a deal. It is just another test on just another day.
04:30 - 04:32
And there are many more.
04:32 - 04:38
And one thing that we'll talk about in another part of this video is how the S. A. T.
04:38 - 04:44
Has scored. So instead of thinking I know my weakness I hate reading um
04:45 - 04:49
you know I think I'm gonna crush this, It's gonna be awesome. It's not a big deal.
04:49 - 04:52
You know, instead of thinking it's boring, that's why I don't like it.
04:52 - 04:58
Let's you know, let's think about what story you're gonna um learn about today.
04:58 - 05:01
What's gonna what are you going to add to your collection and your
05:01 - 05:06
brain of all the ridiculous stories that you'll ever have to know?
05:06 - 05:12
Um You know just thinking that positive thought is going to make things a
05:12 - 05:16
lot easier for you and I found this out not too long ago.
05:16 - 05:20
Um Nicholas chiropractor actually he's um on the staff of the Atlanta falcons.
05:20 - 05:26
Um He is an amazing doctor, I love him and he is so positive.
05:26 - 05:29
And one of the things that he said was um and he showed
05:29 - 05:33
me a study that was done and I'm pretty sure it was Switzerland
05:33 - 05:41
um where he said that they actually talked positively to a glass of water or
05:41 - 05:46
to several glasses of water or whatever the case may be over amount of time.
05:46 - 05:50
And over that time the molecules changed
05:50 - 05:55
positively when spoken to positively and over the
05:55 - 06:01
same time they had a group b where the molecules that were they talked negatively to
06:01 - 06:04
um that that glass of are those glasses of
06:04 - 06:08
water and those molecules changed in a negative manner.
06:08 - 06:11
And so the results of this test and the thing
06:11 - 06:16
that they were trying to find is how talking positively uh
06:16 - 06:21
to yourself because you are made up of 60-70% water will
06:21 - 06:25
affect what your body does and what your body feels.
06:25 - 06:30
And they literally came out with this study saying that your body
06:30 - 06:37
feels and reacts to your positive thinking and your positive self talk.
06:37 - 06:43
Uh or it reacts to your negative self talk or your negative thinking.
06:43 - 06:45
So keeping that in mind
06:45 - 06:48
thinking positively about the S. A. T.
06:48 - 06:52
Thinking positively about learning about reading about doing the things that
06:52 - 06:54
we need to do in order to get through this S.
06:54 - 06:56
A. T. Is only going to help you.
07:00 - 07:03
So the next thing we're gonna talk about is we
07:03 - 07:06
are not going to make this test a big deal.
07:06 - 07:08
The S. A. T. Is super scored.
07:08 - 07:13
So no matter how many times you take it they are going to
07:13 - 07:17
take your best score whatever college it is wherever you wanna go.
07:17 - 07:21
If you want to go to Harvard if you wanna go to Yale if you want to go to
07:21 - 07:27
west west atlantic university that's in Timbuktu Arizona.
07:27 - 07:30
I don't care where you wanna go.
07:30 - 07:33
The college that you want to go to is going to take your best score.
07:33 - 07:37
So you could take this test literally 50 times if you
07:37 - 07:44
so choose and you can get whatever score is the best
07:45 - 07:46
given to your college.
07:46 - 07:51
Now another thing that we're going to think about is possibly taking the A. A. C. T.
07:51 - 07:55
Because if for some reason you're just not jiving with the S. A. T.
07:55 - 08:00
Then maybe we need to think about heading on over to the A. C. T. Because the A. C. T.
08:00 - 08:05
When when kids don't do well with the S. A. T. They typically do better with the A. C. T.
08:05 - 08:08
That's another day another thought but just something
08:08 - 08:09
to put in the back of your brain.
08:10 - 08:13
I want you to relax. You're not running for the presidency.
08:13 - 08:16
Although you would probably make a better one than
08:16 - 08:17
what we have in the office right now.
08:17 - 08:23
Did I say that out loud? Yes I did. I want you to take it slow and easy.
08:23 - 08:28
I don't want you to put pressure on yourself. Um There's always another s. A. T.
08:28 - 08:32
Test date. It's not that big a deal.
08:32 - 08:38
So let's just focus on the task at hand and just chill out.
08:39 - 08:42
Um And know the minions are not saying blah blah blah.
08:42 - 08:45
To me they are saying blah blah blah to let's not
08:46 - 08:48
they're saying blah blah blah like it's not a big deal.
08:52 - 08:54
Okay so
08:55 - 08:57
you're gonna kill this test.
08:57 - 09:00
I want you to take all of this in and I want
09:00 - 09:06
you to just really start focusing on the task at hand.
09:06 - 09:09
Let's make sure we're being prepared for our class.
09:09 - 09:13
Let's make sure that we are um getting all of our assignments done.
09:13 - 09:18
I realize I'm giving you a ton of work to do.
09:18 - 09:23
I understand the pressure that puts on you. I am very sorry about that.
09:23 - 09:28
We do have a very short limited amount of time in order to get this done.
09:28 - 09:34
And so we're gonna have to just push through um And and get it done.
09:34 - 09:40
So like I said and one of the slides um time management is key.
09:40 - 09:42
You're gonna have to plan this out to where we
09:42 - 09:46
can get these things done in a timely matter.
09:46 - 09:50
Um So what I'm gonna do is send you over,
09:50 - 09:54
I've already sent you the emails I'm gonna send you over this video.
09:54 - 09:57
I want you to make sure that everything that we
09:57 - 10:00
that I have assigned you for this week you get
10:00 - 10:03
done because the following week we're gonna get done you
10:03 - 10:06
know whatever else is on our eight week list.
10:06 - 10:09
Okay So have a good week.
10:09 - 10:12
Um Send me over these are let me know um Just to
10:12 - 10:15
email me and let me know that you're done with the assignments.
10:15 - 10:17
Um And I will take a look at them also.
10:17 - 10:21
I did want to tell you on the practice test if
10:21 - 10:23
you go online to your account to the Princeton review.
10:23 - 10:26
Remember I showed you that they have practice tests on there.
10:26 - 10:29
Go ahead and do your practice test online?
10:29 - 10:32
It'll be easier for us to look at together when I come back.
10:33 - 10:38
Um So that you can see what you need to work on. Um
10:39 - 10:45
And it'll be right there online instead of doing it in the book. Um Just do it online.
10:47 - 10:52
Okay well have a good time with this and don't stress out.
10:52 - 10:57
And I will see you back on the 11th. Talk soon. Bye.
