  1. Hello everyone,
  2. my name is Alexey Burgio and today I am going to
  3. demonstrate and talk about how to do a dead lift.
  4. Now,
  5. I know some of you may be thinking why did she choose that
  6. lift out of all the lifts in the world to talk about today,
  7. but I chose this lift because there's many benefits to doing this lift.
  8. It's a great full body workout.
  9. It can be used for Hitt cardio if you want to, it can be used to get bulky if you want,
  10. you can build and burn with this lift.
  11. However, it is an intimidating lift to many people because it can look very scary,
  12. especially if you see
  13. People dead lifting £600, £800 and
  14. that can be very intimidating to someone who's new to weight lifting.
  15. Um but I want to show you that if you just
  16. understand the basic concepts that go along with this lift,
  17. it is actually easy concept to grasp and
  18. then once you understand that basic concept,
  19. the lift is actually really fun to do and it's a great lift to master
  20. and to get
  21. great at and there's also many benefits that come along with this left
  22. Now.
  23. First thing um as you're going to see in the video here,
  24. um the first main concept to know about this lift
  25. is it's about hinging the hips backward and forward.
  26. So, a huge misconception is that when you're dead lifting,
  27. your lifting the weight up with your arms to some who are new to weightlifting,
  28. that's almost what it looks like.
  29. However, you are bringing your buttocks back,
  30. driving your hips back, keeping your core
  31. tight, your arms
  32. tight and back, your shoulders back,
  33. like I shouldn't be able to put my finger
  34. in between your armpit when you're dead lifting.
  35. Okay, so you stay nice and straight
  36. core engaged, you drive the hips back,
  37. hinge them back and then you hinge them forward
  38. as shown in the video right there for you
  39. and so once you get this concept down then it's not as intimidating.
  40. So,
  41. and then once you get the concept down when it's not intimidating,
  42. that's when it gets fun because then you can start mastering the lift,
  43. you can have fun with it, you gain your endurance, your strength,
  44. then you can start lifting heavier.
  45. Now there's many benefits to this lift.
  46. So not only can, as I mentioned previously,
  47. it can help you build and burn so you can build
  48. muscle while also building fat because be a great hit workout,
  49. it's also a great full body workout because as I also mentioned before,
  50. you have to engage your core while you're doing this workout,
  51. you want to make sure your core is tight and your shoulders
  52. are back while you're lifting otherwise you can really hurt yourself.
  53. So you there's many great benefits doing this lift and
  54. I really,
  55. really want to motivate people to try this lift and you don't have
  56. to do a ton of weight like you see on instagram or facebook,
  57. it can just be a light amount of weight,
  58. the movement itself is actually enjoyable.
  59. No,
  60. the reason why it's so scary is you want to make sure you research and
  61. you look up what good form is for this lift if you don't know what you're doing.
  62. So if you don't have a personal trainer or coach to show you how to do this lift,
  63. um there's great resources such as Youtube,
  64. um you can look at youtube, you can
  65. go on google,
  66. there's many resources you want to make sure you look up good form
  67. because if you don't know what you're doing while doing this lift,
  68. it is a lift where you can hurt yourself.
  69. So
  70. dude, dead lifting and correctly you can hurt your back, you can hurt your shoulder,
  71. you can hurt even your knees, even your legs, your hips, you can hurt.
  72. So you want to make sure you have good form and
  73. also you want to make sure that you're stretching beforehand.
  74. So
  75. this applies to any workout or even in your daily
  76. routine if you meditate or whatever you may do,
  77. you want to make sure that you're stretching
  78. your muscles because not stretching your muscles,
  79. it may seem fine at first while you're working out
  80. however it will lead to injuries eventually because having really tight muscles
  81. not breaking up that lactic asset at all that's building
  82. while you are lifting and gaining muscle or running,
  83. losing fat, whatever that may be,
  84. you want to make sure you are stretching so you're not hurting yourself.
  85. So um
  86. to wrap up my little presentation here, uh dead lifting is such a fun lift,
  87. it's such a fun lift to master once you get that hinging with your hips,
  88. that main concept and it's not lifting with your arms.
  89. As soon as you understand that you can master the lift,
  90. you can add weight to it added into different workouts, have fun with it,
  91. lose weight, you can book if you want,
  92. you can use this in so many different workouts in many different forms.
  93. Um
  94. make sure you understand good form so that you do
  95. not hurt yourself because this is why it's such an intimidating
  96. lift is because people have hurt themselves before not understanding
  97. good for before they try and do that heavy weight,
  98. so as long as you understand it, you're good.
  99. Um and then just make sure you stretch, make sure you stretch before and after.
  100. You don't want to be all tight, you want to make sure you're all loose
  101. and that you are able to do these workouts.
  102. Anyway, guys get out there and get dead lifting,
  103. thank you
