00:01 - 00:05
Hi, my name is Brianna Carpenter, but everyone calls me breed.
00:05 - 00:11
I'm from a small town on the outskirts of Birmingham called Pleasant Grove Alabama.
00:11 - 00:17
Um, what makes my hometown special is that it's a little small area, so kind of,
00:17 - 00:19
everybody knows one another.
00:19 - 00:23
Um, so it's not really chaotic and hectic. Um,
00:24 - 00:30
I'm not currently working in a child care facility or school setting.
00:30 - 00:33
Um, but I plan to, in the future,
00:33 - 00:36
I plan to become a substitute teacher in the near future
00:36 - 00:41
to give me some hands on experience in the education field.
00:41 - 00:44
So kind of excited about that. Um,
00:45 - 00:55
let's see what was my favorite thing that I remember about child care preschool. Um,
00:55 - 01:00
let's see, I really didn't go to preschool.
01:00 - 01:03
I kind of went to like a daycare,
01:03 - 01:07
but like the funniest memory was probably like christmas time.
01:07 - 01:08
It had to be christmastime.
01:08 - 01:15
I'm a christmas person right now and I've always kind of enjoyed christmas and the,
01:15 - 01:19
you know, dressing up and the lights and all that kind of stuff.
01:19 - 01:24
So I think that christmas time was pretty much the best time um,
01:25 - 01:29
for like a day care preschool area, not in kindergarten.
01:29 - 01:31
Um, I had a really great kindergarten teacher.
01:31 - 01:37
So, um, it was a little, she went above and beyond for everything.
01:37 - 01:38
I mean it could literally be ground
01:38 - 01:44
state and B we're gonna go to the extreme with that and that's kind of why I wanted to
01:44 - 01:49
become an educator and the elementary educators like childhood educator
01:49 - 01:53
because of her because she just made everything just so
01:54 - 01:58
you know, fun, all theatrics that you could think of, she did it.
01:58 - 02:02
And so um I think the best one would probably have to be between
02:02 - 02:09
Halloween and like easter like I mean she went all out easter christmas,
02:09 - 02:14
I mean everything I can't really put my finger on one because everything that
02:14 - 02:19
she did was just awesome and I really enjoyed my time in kindergarten.
02:19 - 02:21
Um
02:22 - 02:27
what I hope for to learn this semester is um just how
02:27 - 02:34
to better like connect with the whole like with younger Children um and
02:34 - 02:37
like to get to like some more strategies to get on their
02:37 - 02:41
level when it comes down to like education and everything like that.
02:41 - 02:42
I know like
02:42 - 02:45
the things that I was taught,
02:45 - 02:49
I was taught you know before like elementary school is not
02:49 - 02:52
so much how things are done now and I'm still learning and
02:52 - 02:57
processing the new way or new generation ways of how to
02:57 - 03:02
do it and even from like teaching or whatever aspects of it
03:02 - 03:05
and not just so much of understanding them because I think
03:05 - 03:08
I pretty much like have that part a little bit but like
03:08 - 03:11
the teaching process and not trying to revert back to the ways
03:11 - 03:14
that I know but the way that it's better for them.
03:15 - 03:16
Um
03:18 - 03:22
that's pretty much it about me. Um
03:23 - 03:24
I you know like I said,
03:24 - 03:28
I just really hope that this class just brings out
03:28 - 03:33
a lot of informative information for my future um as a
03:33 - 03:38
childhood educator and elementary educator and I look forward to this
03:38 - 03:42
semester and learning all the various ways to do that.
