Introduction
The state Washington is a very unique state, because it is one of the states that borders Canada. Washington is the 42nd state to be discovered. This state was discovered on February 22, 1732. This state is also unique because it is the only state named after a president.

The governor of Washington is Jay Islee. He was born on Febuary 6, 1951.He is the 23rd governor of Washington. He started his job as governor on January 16,2013. He served in the United states House representatives from 1993 to 1995.The two currant senators of Washington is Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. Patty Murray was the first female senate of Washington. She was first elected in 1992.Maria Cantwell is a female senate that was elected on 2001.
The most current population in Washington is about6,724,540. The total amount of space in squre miles of Washington is 68,126.

Washington does not have a state animal but a state mammal, it is the Orca whale. The state bird is a goldfinch, a yellow colored bird with some black on its head and wings. The state insect is the green darner fly. The state fish is a steel head trout. The state flower is the coast rhododendron. The state tree is a western hemlock.
The state fruit is an apple. The state vegetable is the walla walla sweet onion. The state grass is the blue bunch wheat grass. The state fossil is the Colombian Mammoth and the state gem is petrified wood.

There are many tourist attractions in Washington. One of the most popular is the space needle. It is the tallest building in Washington. Other attractions such as the Olympic National park, Mt.Rainier, the museum of flight, Woodland park zoo and many more interesting places to go. The professional sport team for base ball in Washington is the Seattle Mariners.For football it is the Seattle sea hawks. For basketball it is the Seattle Sonic. For basket ball for women it is the Seattle Storm.

The state of Washington makes lots of money with taxes, trading, agriculture, and energy. Washington taxes both real property and personal property. Taxes are also put on stuff such as gasoline and beverages. Washington also trades through the ports of Puget Sound. Did you know that Washington is the fourth largest exporting state in Washington? Washington is actually an agriculture leading state. Washington grew raspberries, peas, hops, spearmint, cherries, pears, peppermint, concord grapes.carrots,Niagara-apples,asparagus,sweetcorn,prunes,plums,onions,barley,
trout,wheat,cranberries and strawberries. Some of the main natural resources in Washington are wildlife such as animals, water,trees, ans mineral deposits.

Washington state motto is "Washington, my home". Washington's nickname is the evergreen state because it is filled with evergreens. Washington's state song is,"This is my country; God gave it to me; I will protect it, Ever keep it free.
Small towns and cities rest here in the sun, Filled with our laughter. Thy will be done.

One of the three major cities of Washington is Seattle. It is one of the major cities because it is the biggest city in Washington and has a lot of tourist attractions. Seattle is between two lakes, Puget sound and the Lake Washington.
Another major city in Washington is Olympia. Olympia is one of the major cities is because it is the capital of Washington. Mt.Rainier is located in Olympia. Olympia is a city full of numerous attractions like Hands on museums.
The third major city is Spokane. Spokane is a very beautiful
city. Did you know that Spokane has the second largest population in Washington. Did you also know that there are 76 lakes here.
Bill Gates is a famous person from Washington. He was born on October 28, 1955. He went to the Lakeside school when he was young.He went to Harvard college. He currently lives in Seattle, Washington. He got the award of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

Another famous person is Karan Brar. He is a movie actor. He was born on January 18, 1999. Did you know that he was an actor in Diary of a Wimpy kid! He also acts in a TV show called Jessie.

Conclusion
Washington is a very nice state with a lot of cool areas to got to, like the Space Needle. It is a really tall building. Washington is the only state in the United states to be named after a president. Washington is a very unique state in many different ways.
