NBA Draft Regulations Must Be 19 years old
Have to be out of High School for at least a year. The Problems Young
Inexperienced
Uneducated
The Problem is that many athletes go into the draft without completing college. Many people may not think this is a big deal. It is a big deal. These 19 year-olds are practically High School seniors expected to deal with million dollar contracts. Solutions What about the Players who are not even going to enter the Draft? Daniel Orton 33 Eric Bledsoe 24
DeAndre Liggins 34
Patrick Patterson 54 Darius Miller 1 Well they did get to play for Kentucky right? Josh Harrelson 55 Mark Krebs 12 Jon Hood 4 Ramon Harris 5 Darnell Dodson 3 Yeah I know who they are...well most of them Are you kidding? Do you go to Kentucky? Wait you play basketball?
Are you on the Club team?
Athletes should be able to take a major that is specialized for them. The purpose of going to college is to get an education. The University should provide athletes with the opportunity to take classes that either pertains to their desired careers or a degree in another skill they can use after their professional career. I also think that the NBA should require at least an associates degree or require perspective players to be at least 2 years out of high school. School Athletics These players should take it upon themselves to prioritize what is most important. These students should get some compensation perhaps through scholarships. As long as theses student athletes can handle both their studies and playing they should be fine. College Athletics: Going Pro...or not.
