My Lewis and Clark Expedition
May 10, 2011 Wekiva Springs I am still on my way to Altamonte Springs and have stopped at Wekiva Springs. Wekiva Springs has tons of wildlife, including bobcats, gray foxes, bears, deer, rabbits, racoons, coyotes, opossum, and a variety of fish. This place can be dangerous because if you are adventurous and want to explore, you could get lost and run into a predator such as a coyote or a bobcat. The plants are bright and beautiful. There are white flowers , that are a part of the water hyssop, little lavender flowers of the alligator flag, and arrowheads. The culture here is different from a lot of the United States. It is a more adventurous and natural place. The United States have left it as untouched and affected by humans as they could, with humans still being able to visit and explore. The trails are nice for hiking and seeing the scenery. The spring is natural and a get place to enjoy swimming. Wekiva Springs Deltona I have left my house and I am still in Deltona. The vegetation here is beautiful. There are big, sturdy oak trees, white flowers with thorns, and orange and gold flowers that cover bushes. There are squirrels and chipmunks. The other animals you might see is the occasional owl and turtles trying to cross the road. There are racoons and even bats. Deltona can be dangerous because of animal attack and alligators. There can also be predators (animal or human), but the culture here is wonderful. Deltona supports FFA (Future Farmers of America) in middle and high schools. Also religion is big in Deltona too. We have the Mormon faith, Baptists, Methodists, Calvinists, Catholics, and others. Deltona has many Hispanics and patriots, which makes Deltona and mix of different cultures. It is a nice city outside of Orlando. Sanford I am now in Sanford and have stopped to visit the St. Johns River. There are beautiful plants such as the button bush, cattail, and mosquito fern. Other plants are pond lilies, duck weed, irises, and water lettuce. There are a bunch of animals in the St. Johns River ecosystem. Manatees, or sea cows, are famous St. Johns River animals. Others are turtles, alligators, river otters, and the occasional bottlenose dolphin. There are also bobcats, gray squirrels, stingrays, and many species of fish. The culture of the St. Johns river is focused more around fishing and boating. The River is good for water sports, such as skiing and wakeboarding, and swimming. There are dangers of going to the St. Johns River. Boating accidents and animal attacks are some dangers of the St. Johns River. Some others are skiing and wakeboarding accidents. The St. Johns River is a good place to go to if you like nature, fishing, swimming, and boating and water sports. Lake Mary I’m in Lake Mary, halfway to Altamonte Springs and the scenery is beautiful. Some animals seen in the trees are gray foxes and bobcats. In the open and on the edge of the trees, there are skunks, raccoons, and opossum. Some animals that are unseen but are still there are the rats and mice. There are a bunch of trees such as southern sugar maples, silver maples, southern crab apples, and southern bayberry trees. There a tons of flowers, but my favorite of them are the Aztec marigolds. Another plant that I see are asthma weeds. The dangers of this place are animal attacks, car accidents, and predators. Lake Mary has dance studios, churches, Wal-Mart, Target, and many other stores and restaurants. Altamonte Springs I have now reached my destination, Altamonte Springs. The animals that inhabit Altamonte Springs are bunnies, squirrels, and birds. Others are raccoons, opossums, skunks, and foxes. Some plants that are in Altamonte Springs are pineland butterfly peas, sharpwing monkeyflowers, red ferns, and Florida pimpernels. Altamonte Springs has dangers too. There could be animal attacks and predators. Also bicycle and car accidents are very possible. If you’re hiking or biking paths and get off the path, there is the possibility of getting lost and not knowing where you are. Altamonte is a quaint, old-fashion-meets-modern kind of town. It is a cute town to shop in with unique shops and the mall. Definitely a place to visit if you are looking for a good shopping place or a nice cup of coffee.
