Why do you think plants need air?
Do a think-pair-share and explain your answer. Plants need sunlight to live Plants also need water to grow and survive.
Nutrients are minerals that plants use to grow.

Nutrients are like vitamins for the plants! Sunlight is light from the sun.

Plants get energy to make food from the sun.

What do you get your energy from?

Discuss with your table and be prepared to share. Water is important for plants because it carries nutrients from the soil to the plant. People breath oxygen which is part of the air.

Plants use a different part of the air that helps them make energy.

Plants get their nutrients from soil and water and energy from the sun. What are the important elements in each picture to help plants stay alive and grow?
