The Medal Of Honor
The highest medal earned for valor is the medal of honor. In 1861, the medal of honor was only approved for the Sailors and Marines. After that year, it was approved for soldiers as well. the way to earn this very honorable medal was by performing acts of valor and going above the call of duty.
Tibor rubin
Corporal Rubin's Battalion-a large body of troops ready for battle, especially an infantry unit forming part of a brigade typically commanded by a lieutenant colonel-was ambushed by over a thousand Chinese Troops during the Korean war. with only one machine gun, the American soldiers began to defend themselves. three soldiers died while arming it. then corporal Rubin stepped up and shot until the ammunition was completely gone. Unfortunately, he was injured badly. after is heroic act, he was send to a* P.O.W. camp.

Samuel Davis
During the Vietnam war, Sgt. Samuel Davis was stationed west of Cia Lay. Sgt. Davis's mission as to support an infantry with extra Artillery to push the Viet Cong soldiers to Cambodia. One night, the middle of the base was ambushed by over a thousand Viet Cong soldiers. Sgt. Davis soon began to back them up. He had multiple wounds, including a Broken Back, a Perforated kidney, and several flesh injuries. ignoring those wounds, davis continued to fight back. A soldier from the other side started to call out that he was a G.I.. quickly, davis used his air mattress as a raft to get to the other side, where the other soldier was. however, as he reached the other side, instead of 1 soldier, there was 3. Davis rescued all three injured soldiers at once.

This is the trait that mostly all Medal of Honor recipients have. Samuel Davis and Tibor Rubin both have valor, because first of all, they both risk their lives to go to war. second, both of them did something that helped their entire group of soldiers. And lastly, they both did something that most soldiers would not do.
