(NLT) Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.
When he . . . . . . Saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
He said to his disciples. . . Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
(NLT) ". . .The harvest is great, but the workers are few! So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields!” What are heavenly treasures?
What are earthly treasures? Will God's whole plan fail if we're not very good at sharing the Good News? Who's running the harvest? How can we be ready to work for God in his harvest? If we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
If we claim we have no sin . . . 1 John 1:7-9 . . . we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. What should we do when we sin? Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling
(NIV) Philipians 2:12-16 For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation . . . Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky! Philipians 2:12-16 Be a star! How does God work through us to bring in the harvest?
