vegetables (e.g corn, potatoes,squash, etc.)

ASIA
The First European sea route was found by Portugal
High demand on spices
High interest in Asian culture
Some people came over to try and convert Asia's inhibitors to Christianity
PORTUGAL
Found the first sea route to Asia
Made many technological advances (e.g caravel, astrolabe, etc.)
While traveling to Asia, the Portuguese set up lots of trading posts
SPAIN
Conquistadors from Spain led many expeditions in the Americas
Columbus claimed a lot of land for Spain during his expeditions but Native Americans had already inhabited the area
The Spanish Empire in the Americas grew to 3 to 4 million people
