Hannibal Hannibal was the greatest military leader of his time. Hannibal Hannibal marched from Cartagena Spain to Saguntum Spain until he and his army reached the Alps. Hannibal's army had 20,000 soldiers, 6,000 cavalry and 37 war elephants. hannibal atacted Hannibal had five major battles. The five battles were great achievements of the second Punic War. This is a video of Hannibal's army crossing the Alps. . . . . The first major battle was in Ticino. * Their second battle was in Trebia. The third was in Trasimene. * * The fourth was the battle of Canmae. * The last battle was in Zama. * His greatest achievement was to cross the Alps in sixteen days in 218 BCE.
