Main function
A key function of the cardiovascular system is to provide oxygen and
nutrients
to the tissue of the body via the bloodstream
- The heart pumps blood into the blood vessels
- The blood vessels carry blood to the body's tissue
- The blood carries a number of dissolved things in it
The circulatory system carries waste products from the tissues to the kidneys and the liver and returns carbon dioxide from the tissues to the lungs
- Force of the heart pump helps get blood back
- Blood vessels(veins) help squeeze blood back to the heart
- The blood carries carbon dioxide back to the lungs to be excreted
The ability to keep body temperature within certain boundaries
Vasodilation

during exercise, blood vessels redirect blood closer to the surface so that the heat can evaporate
