Scott Stoll
We as a school decided that our book would be about a monarch butterfly.
We chose the monarch because our school is helping to save the species from extinction.
Parker Woods
Book Project

Scott and the students think up the characters, the students illustrate the book
Scott traveled
around the
world on his
BIKE! He even
wrote a book
about it!
Our School Garden is a Monarch
Way Station!

Monarch way stations are places that provide resources necessary for monarchs to produce successive generations and sustain their migration. Our garden grows plants such as Milkweed, Zinnia, Sneeze weed, Aster and Mexican Sunflower to help support the monarch population
Monarch Butterfly Metamorphosis
Facts About the Monarch
Here is how you can create your own monarch
way station at home.

3- 6 communities, here is a song about the monarch's migration!

Soon, we will be voting on names for the characters in Scott's book.

And later in the year, we will be drawing illustrations for the story in art class! The finished book will be published, and can be purchased through our PTO and Amazon.com
I'm really excited about our book project. I hope you are too. Through our efforts as a community we will be able to educate others on the importance of helping the monarch butterfly's survival.
We hope this book will teach others how they can help the monarch butterfly survive.
