Kepler's Three Laws of Planetary Motion
1. Planets orbit the sun in ellipses, with the sun at one focus, and the other focus being empty.
2. A line connecting the Sun to an orbiting planet sweeps out equal areas in equal times.
3. The square of the orbital period of a planet is proportional to the cube of the mean distance from the Sun, or orbital radius.
First Law of Planetary Motion
