Title: With Every Drop Of Blood By: Christopher Collier & James Lincoln Collier Protagonist(Good Guy)- Antagonist(Bad Guy)- Main Characters Objective Summary Main Theme/Conflict My Opinion Recommended? Why or why not? Other Characters- Johnny & Cush No specific Bad Guy. Ma Pa Jeb The book, With Every Drop Of Blood, is about a 14 year-old boy, Johnny, who promised his father before his father died that he would take care and watch out for his family instead of fighting in the war. Later on in the book, he decides to break his promise to his father and go with the group of people to the rebels. Johnny is then captured by a black runaway slave, Cush, which he had false feelings towards. They learn to put their differences aside and then later on become friends. They both depend on each other to survive the severity of the war. Main Theme-

Conflict- Put peoples differences aside and maybe you'll see they're great people. This book is a great book to read if you want to know about how two opposite people can become friends during a war while depending on eachother for survival. I liked it. I would recommend this book because i like the message it sends which is that two completely different people can become friends with each other & depend on each other to live during a war. The story that the book explains is very detailed and very thoughtful. It shows how everybody is different in their own way but will work it all out in the end. This book is very good, and i think everybody should read it at least once in their lives. Cush captures Johnny after Johnny broke his promise to his dad that has just died. Johnny and Cush are both good guys in some arts of the book because Johnny and Cush have to rely on each other to survive and they both are fighting in the war that is happening, Both Cush and Johnny are bad guys at certain points in the book because Johnny breaks his promise to his father and fights in the war & Cush captures Johnny which makes him the bad guy in that part of the book.
