THE MEANING OF ETHICS FROM ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE :

Ethics means
"Akhlaq"
it is derived from the word
"Khuluq
" meaning the character and the nature.

The definition of morals in Shari'ah

The morals are the characteristics which Allah (S W T) Has ordered the Muslims to abide by when performing their actions whether it is act of worships, transactions or others.


“Ethics is an integral part of the normative religious practice.”


What are the primary sources of normative Islamic teachings?

THE MEANING OF ETHICS FROM CONVENTIONAL PERSPECTIVE :

Ethics means :

" Moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the conducting of an activity "

" Branch of knowledge which helps to realize human well – being through an allocation and distribution of scarce resources that is in conformity with Islamic teachings without unduly curbing individual freedom or creating continued macroeconomic and ecological imbalances- Umer Chapra"
Why Economics need to apply Islamic ethics in their activities?
What is the ethical issues related to global economics nowadays?
The concept of ethics from conventional and Islamic perspective differs in many ways
unethical behavior is not good for both the Muslims and the non-Muslims.
A good economy level can only be achieved if the people inside the economy circle behave ethically.
In order for humans to behave ethically, Islam’s rules and regulation plays an important part.

ECONOMIC AND THE TAWHIDIC PARADIGM
Economic man - maximize profits with the limited resources.

Get the maximum benefits for himself.
Not for the welfare of others.
Does not behave differently at different conditions.
Except his variables and utility cost.

However, Islam consider it as invalid.

Islam requires man to be consistent and rational.
Following strictly by Islamic value.

Tawhidic principle
Lead men to achieve the pleasure of Allah.

Islam is a complete way of life ( syuMUL).
Unify ethics and economics.

ECONOMIC AND THE PRINCIPLE OF JUSTICE
Remove all the barriers.

-To make sure the justice can be prevail.

-Prohibition of Riba'

-To achieve balance in all activities.

Follow through Islamization.

-Firmly rejects the uneven distribution of income and wealth.

-No limits to accumulate wealth as long as its not deprived his basic needs.
