Twitter is a real-time social network that helps users share, follow and interact with stories, opinions, links, pictures and videos in 140-characters messages.
Instagram is an online photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, apply digital filters to them, and share them with The World.

Once you set your profile to private, anyone who wants to see your photos will need to be your friend/follower first, meaning they’ll have to send a request and you’ll have to approve.

Snapchat has been associated with sexting, bullying and privacy since its beginning
However, the main appeal (and thus the importance) of Snapchat is NOT sexting, rather it's about ephemeral messaging, and the desire to leave less digital tracks.
A blog is a personal website or web page on which an individual, company, school, etc. records opinions, stories, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis.
