Honors Academy
The SAC Honors Academy offers special college courses in core areas which include: English, History, Government, Math and Science - that every student will need for a  bachelor's degree in Texas. 

Qualifications
High School Graduates with:
a minimum 3.25 GPA
Scored at college level in reading and writing on a college entrance exam.

Is a college credit course that may be transferable to a University.
3 hour course could help you be a full-time student.
Interested in a theory-based course that includes research skills.
This course can count as “Field” for Liberal Arts majors.
Counts as elective for Secondary Education majors (A.A.T).
Provides support for the entire first semester in college (16 weeks).
 
Possible Reasons a Student might choose SDEV 0170:
Nontransferable
Eight-week one-credit-hour course fits better in schedule.
Prefer not to take a three-hour course that does not fit in major.
Already has experience navigating a college campus.
