1845: Leinenkugel family immigrated from Germany to Chippewa Falls, WI.
1st Generation: Jacob L. and John Miller partnership, 1884 John sold his share to Jacob.
2nd Generation: Jacob died in 1899, leaving his son Mathias Leinenkugel as president of the brewery. Prohibition passed during this generation.
More Leinie History
3rd Generation: William Casper and Raymond Mayer took over the brewery.
4th Generation: Bill Leinenkugel and Paul Mayer expanded to Minnesota, Michigan, and Chicago.
5th Generation: Jake, Dick and John Leinenkugel. 1988 merged with Miller Brewing Company.
What is a Leinie Beer?
Leinenkugel produces several varieties of brews. Mainly Lagers, Wheat and Stouts, but also Fruit and seasonal brews depending on the time of year.

Two breweries: The original in Chippewa Falls, WI and Milwaukee, WI.
Distribution takes place mainly in the upper midwest and other locations in the U.S. in limited quantities.
Leinenkugel's Canoes for a Cause: helps preserve local water ways around the U.S.
Leinie's Lodge: Community Group that involves Leinenkugel fans from all around.
