Lots of human beings have some form of addiction such as tea, coffee, smoking, food, shopping, sleep, internet(etc). Allah said the most perfect human beings are those who are not addicted to anyone or anything besides him himself. When we say Alcohol we are referring to intoxicants such as beers, spirits, wines and so on not knowing whether they effect us or not.
In the Quran Allahs states"They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit.'' And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess [beyond needs]." Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses [of revelation] that you might give thought.''- Surah Baqarah 2:219 The ayahs explain that when a person asks you about wine and gambling and you should answer on how both are sinful and some benefit for people but the sin is more then the benefit. The Evils of Alcohol and Drugs A young person addicted to drugs will start off by losing interest in studies and soon will not get a career and also lose interest in life.Drugs can cost you very bad diseases and illnesses. Many people you see on the streets and in the alleys are drug dealers.A person who risks using drugs not ony risks ruining there life but destroys there future forever.Thats why even after you start college or university it is so important to have muslim friends that go to the mosque to pray for you to help you stop.Never turn to alcohol and drugs if your feeling lonely or upset or no-one can understand you. Drugs are not only haram in islam but a person who sells it to other is destroying another persons life and its like he/she killed one. From an islamic perspective i think that we as muslims are lucky to be able to pray in the mosque and have so many friends and family to support friends if they are addicted. Drugs and alcohol causes lots of problems with our body such as slower breathing and heartbeat, losing control of our minds and lots more. If you do drugs or drink and your addicted the only way you can stop is by getting special help from a doctor(family doctor) and they will help you stop. Imam Muhammad al-Baqir warned that a person who drinks alcohol will be raised on the day of judgement with a darkened face with his or her tongue hanging out and saliva dripping on his or her chest with extreme thirst. He or she Will scream"Thirst! Thirst! until he or she enters the hell fire and drinks from its filth and dirt.
In the quran it says"O you who believe! Do not go near prayer when you are Intoxicated until you know (well) what you say''-surah Nisa 4:43 By:Zohra Wahedi In General, any kind of Addiction is not good. In Islam there are some forms of addiction that are haram even if you only do it once in a while. These are alcohol and drugs. In other societies when drug or alcohol is condemned they only mean is wrong to be addicted and or to overuse them but in Islam it is haram. Islam forbids human beings from using any substance that causes them to lose control of there mind and to behave differently. There was person who asked Imam Jafar as-Sadiq that if a person takes alcohol in a small quantity and it dosent intoxicate him or her is it permissible? He replied"absolutely not''. Imam Ali once said"if he knew a drop of wine fell into a well and the water of the well was used to water the earth and grass grew from the earth and the animal ate the grass he would still not eat the meat of the animal. That explains the lasting affect of the alcohol. Alcohol (continued) A Warning A short little warning to those who....... In other words anyone who has anything to do with alcohol is cursed by Rasulullah even if it is just advertising, creating and Tv ad, wearing a t-shirt that advertises it and so on.
In the Quran it says"O you who have faith! Indeed wine, gambling, idols and divining arrows(a form of gambling are uncleanlinesses from Shaytan's work, so avoid them so that you may be succesful- Surah al-Maidah 5:90 In Other W ords............... Did you Know........... Did you know that in the Islamic goverment and under the Islamic law the punishment for drinking alcohol is 80 lashes the second is 160 the third time is 240 and if a person drinks a fourth time the punishment is death.
NOW YOU KNOW! When we refer to drugs we mean intoxicants that are taken to alter a persons state of mind and not medicines.
There are lots of very harmful drugs which is called narcotics. They are addictive and very bad for your health. Just like alcohol it alters you mood or behavior. There are different types of drugs like plants, liquids, powders and so on. In most places drugs are seen or used in high schools, colleges and universities. Drugs are very addictive and anyone who just tries once will soon go back for more. Don’t Huff, Don’t Puff. Keep away from that stuff! This is a slogan that i would like to share with you guys"Get high on Life, not on drugs''. Its explains that you should not use drugs and let it affect not only you but your life. You shouldn't try any no matter what and you should especially never get addicted. You should never use drugs no matter what. If your friends ever offer you it say no thank you and walk away because you shouldn't be friends with a person who does drugs. Sometimes friends start teasing you that your to scared to try it out and all kinds of different things so they start peer pressuring you and think doing drugs is cool and don't want to be your friend with you anymore. This ayah explains that when you are intoxicated you shouldn't go near the prayer because your drunk and you dont know what your doing. Some examples of alcohol is:
Beer, Wine, Vodka, Malibu, Smirnoff. They are the drinks that intoxicate you and make you lose control of your mind and behavior. Some examples of drugs are: Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, LSD, Ecstasy, PCP and lots lots more.
They are very harmful to us human beings and especially not good for us. Drugs Credits http://listverse.com/2007/09/27/top-10-drugs-and-their-effects/
