University Voting System
System Analysis and Design
It is a method by which voters make a choice between options, often in an election or on a policy referendum. Common voting systems are majority rule, proportional representation or plurality voting with a number of variations and methods such as first-past-the-post or preferential voting.
The manual voting system or the traditional voting system, is a way of voting wherein voters are given ballots, a piece of paper where the names of the candidates including the position they are running to. Here, the voter will choose and shade the circle beside the name of his desired candidate. After that, he will drop the filled-up ballot to the ballot box. The watchers then count the votes when the election is over. Tallying of votes will be done manually. One disadvantage of this manual tallying is that the votes seemed to be inaccurate. And also the electoral process is slow. Advantage of manual voting is that it is done for only little number of populations, and also for not using electricity.
The automated voting system is done through technological process. It is a computer based system wherein the data or the list of candidates and voters are saved in a database It is reliable because aside from the data can be saved for a long time, it can also be printable. Votes are counted automatically and said to be more accurate than the manual tallying. The process of voting is also faster compared to manual. The disadvantage of it is that, not all people are aware of the new technology. But then, the researchers want to create a user-friendly voting system.
