Chase Minor December 27, 1996 1997 1998 2000 1999 2001 2002 I was born on December 27, 1996 at 4:00 pm at Akron General Hospital, weighing in at a healthly 6 pounds, 4 ounces and I was six weeks early.

In this year in American History:
-Bill Clinton is elected for a second consecutive term.
This is important because Bill Clinton helped the economy out a little bit and helped with our country's education system.
-Atlanta hosts the 100th Olympic games.
This is important because I love the Olympics and all the sports and pride it presents the host country and all the others that are participating.
-NFL & Cleveland allows Art Modell to move his NFL franchise to Baltimore but he had to leave the Browns' name behind.
This is important because I am now a Browns fanatic and he took them to another state but kept our name. This upset a lot of other fans too.

In Popular Culture:
-David Bowie and Pink Floyd get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-Dallas Cowboys defeat Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXXII.
-The Nintendo 64 comes out. I learned how to crawl, walk and play with my sister the my first year of life.
At this time we lived in Barberton.

In American History:
- Space Shuttle Atlantis Returns to Earth... successful.
This event is significant because I am interested in space exploration and I want to help build something that might go to Mars or even further one day.
- OJ Simpson found libel in murders of Ron Goldman & Nicole Simpson.
This event is significant because Sport Heroes aren't always who they seem.
-The Phoenix lights were seen over Phoenix, Arizona by hundreds of people, and by millions on television. They are now a hotly debated controversy.
This event is significant because I am intereted in the possibility of extra-terrestrials living on Earth and humans may not realize it.

In Popular Culture:
-Jackson 5, Bee Gees, and Buffalo Springfield get inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
-"Titanic" wins Best Picture.
-"Goldeneye 007" wins Nintendo Game of the Year. Our family built a new house in Green. We were the 5th house built in Mystic Pointe Allotment.

In American History:
-NASA announces John Glenn, 76, may fly in space again.
This event is significant because John Glenn is one of my heroes and is very influential to the space program.
-Elton John was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.
This event is significant because I highly respect Sir Elton John and his music.
- Google is founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, two students at Stanford University.
This event is significant because I use Google on a daily basis and without Google, I would not be able to work on the Internet.

In Popular Culture:
-The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Santana got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"Shakespeare in Love" wins Best Picture.
-"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" wins Nintendo's game of the year award. I attended Loving Hands Preschool.

In American History:
- Legoland California, the first and only Legoland outside of Europe, opens in Carlsbad, California.
This event is significant because many kids, including myself enjoy building objects out of Legos.
-President Bill Clinton begins his impeachment trial in the Senate.
This event is significant because I want to know why he would have an affair, knowing that it could ruin his Presidency and the United States.
-The Supreme Court of the United States upholds the murder convictions of Timothy McVeigh for the Oklahoma City bombing.
This event is significant because I would like to help fight the war on terrorism.

In Popular Culture:
-Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, and Bruce Springsteen were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"American Beauty" wins Best Picture.
-"Super Smash Bros." wins Nintendo's Game of the Year award. I attended Greenwood Elementary Preschool the second half of the year and got to ride the school bus.

In American History:
-The last original "Peanuts" comic strip appears in newspapers one day after Charles M Schulz dies.
This event is significant because I enjoy the "Peanuts" series and our hearts are saddened at the loss of this creative man.
-The United States Supreme Court releases its decision in Bush v. Gore.
This event is significant because changing how the votes were counted affects the outcome of who would be President of the United States.

In Popular Culture:
-Earth, Wind, and Fire gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"Gladiator" wins Best Picture.
-" The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" wins Nintendo's Game
of the Year award. I could read really well when I was started Kindergarten at Greenwood.

In American History:
-The U.S. invasion of Afghanistan starts with an air assault and covert operations on the ground.
This event is significant because if we never got involved in Afghanistan their is a slight possibility that terrorists could be living in Green and I could be dead.
-Apple releases the iPod.
This event is significant because I use my iPod on a daily basis and without this, I would not be able to listen to music without the radio.
-Terrorists hijack two passenger planes crashing them into New York's World Trade Towers causing the collapse of both & death of 2,752 people.
This event is significant because my parents became worried that Green was next and picked me up from Greenwood Elementary.

In Popular Culture:
-Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, and Steely Dan get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"A Beautiful Mind" wins Best Picture.
-"Super Smash Bros. Melee" wins NIntendo's Game of the Year award. 2003 My family did a lot of tent camping in the summer at various Ohio State Parks.

In American History:
-Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrates during reentry into the Earth's atmosphere, killing all seven astronauts aboard.
This event affected me because I am deeply sorrow for those who died for the progression of exploration.
- President George W. Bush announces the capture of Saddam Hussein.
This event affected me because he might have killed more innocent American embassies or possibly his forces could have killed me.
-Gray Davis is recalled as Governor of California, three years before the official end of his office term. Film star Arnold Schwarzenegger is elected Governor.
This event affected me because I am a huge fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger and agree with some of his ideals.

In Popular Culture:
-Ac/Dc, The Clash, and The Police get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" wins Best Picture.
-"The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker" wins Nintendo's Game of the Year award. My family vacationed in the Smokey Mountains this summer. We stayed in a cablin and I went horse back riding for the very time.

In American History:
-The United States population reaches 300 million.
This event is significant because I am a part of that 300 million population.
-NASA reveals photographs taken by Mars Global Surveyor suggesting the presence of liquid water on Mars.
This event is significant because I am very excited about the possibility of finding at least microbial life on Mars.
-The aircraft carrier USS Oriskany is sunk in the Gulf of Mexico to be an artificial reef.
This event is significant because I am very interested in Marine Biology as a possible major and want to learn more about the ocean.

In Popular Culture:
-George Harrison, Bob Seger, Prince, and ZZ top get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"Million Dollar Baby" wins Best Picture.
-"Metroid Prime 2: Echoes" wins Nintendo's Game of the Year award. We continued to do a lot of camping with our new camper. One of our favorite places to camp is Mohican State Park because of all the activities there are to do.

In American History:
- The Lakotah people, a Native American tribe, proclaim independence and withdraw all their treaties with the United States. They then proceed to establish the Republic of Lakotah, with an ongoing process of international recognition as a separate country.
This event is significant because I support every attempt of Native Americans to keep their ancestral territory.
-The I-35W Mississippi River Bridge spanning the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota, collapses during the evening rush hour.
This event is significant because we need to come up with sturdier bridges.
-Greensburg, Kansas is almost completely destroyed by a 1.7m wide EF-5 tornado.
This event is significant because I want to help others by becoming a storm chaser.

In Popular Culture:
-REM and Van Halen get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"No Country For Old Men" wins Best Picture.
-"Super Mario Galaxy" wins Nintendo's Game of the Year award. My family and I went to a Dude Ranch in Coloado and also visited the Grand Canyon.

In American History:
-Hurricane Ike makes landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast of the United States, causing heavy damage to Galveston Island, Houston and surrounding areas.
This event is significant because I wanted to support the victims because I was old enough to understand what had happened and it made me sad.
-Nebraska bans electric chair as sole execution method.
This event is significant because I feel torturing others is wrong.
-California becomes the second U.S. state after Massachusetts in 2004 to legalize same-sex marriage after the state's own Supreme Court rules a previous ban unconstitutional.
This event is significant because I am a supporter of homo-sexual rights.

In Popular Culture:
-The Dave Clark Five, Madonna, and John Mellencamp get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"Slumdog Millionaire" wins Best Picture.
-"Super Smash Bros. Brawl" wins Nintendo Power's Game of the Year award. I tried out and made the Middle School Jazz Band.

In American History:
-General Motors files for chapter 11 bankruptcy. It is the fourth largest United States bankruptcy in history.
This event is significant because my family had to decide on another car maker.
-Barack Obama, inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States of America, becomes the United States' first African-American president.
This event is significant because I support most of Obama's goals and he made history by bcoming the first African American president of the United States of America.
-The United States Navy guided missile cruiser Port Royal runs aground off Oahu, Hawaii, damaging the ship as well as a coral reef.
This event is significant because I feel terrible for all those innocent marine creatures.

In Popular Culture:
-Metallica and Run-D.M.C. get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"The Hurt Locker' wins Best Picture.
-"New Super Mario Bros. Wii" wins Nintendo Power's Game of the Year award. I continued to play the trombone in the Middle School Jazz Band.

In American History:
-The repeal of the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy, the 17-year-old policy banning on homosexuals serving openly in the United States military, was signed into law by President Barack Obama.
This event is significant because I am a supporter of homo-sexual rights.
-Car bomb fails to go off in Times Square, New York City.
This event is significant because I want to help end terrorism.
-Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion kills 11 and causes rig to sink, initiating a massive oil discharge in the Gulf of Mexico.
This event is significant because I want to help create safe oil prospecting, where their is no risk of dying.

In Popular Culture
-ABBA and Genesis get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"The King's Speech" wins Best Picture.
-"Super Mario Galaxy 2" wins Nintendo Power's Game of the Year award. I become the Middle School Champion of the National Geography Bee, but lost when I went to State.

In American History:
-Osama Bin Laden was killed by US Navy Seals.
This event is significant because without Osama Bin Laden dead, my relatives, friends and family could have been eventually killed.
-NASA's Space Shuttle program ends with the landing of Space Shuttle Atlantis on mission STS-135.
This event is significant because I want to help explore the Solar System and beyond.
-5.8 earthquake occurrs in Mineral, Virginia felt as far north as Ontario and as far south as Atlanta, Georgia.
This event is significant because I actually felt the earthquake while I was at home and got a little worried where the earthquake came from.

In Popular Culture:
-Alice Cooper and Neil Diamond get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"The Artist" wins Best Picture.
-"The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" wins Nintendo Power's Game of the Year award. I received Most Improved Marcher of the Green Bulldog Marching Band. I was totally shocked when they announced it at the Thank You Concert.

In American History:
-Obama is elected for a second term.
This event is significant because I support most of his goals.
-The unfinished One World Trade Center overtakes the Empire State building to become the tallest building in New York.
This event is significant because I may work there some day as an engineer.
-Steve Jobs passes away.
This event is significant because I use Apple products on a daily basis and without Steve Jobs I do not know how well the company will do in the future.

In Popular Culture:
-Whitney Houston dies.
-Sei produces "Gangam Style", which becomes a international phenomenon.
-Beastie Boys, Guns N' Roses, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. - 2003 2004 2006 2010 2007 2009 2012 2011 2008 We went to Disneyworld and Disney's Private Island.

In American History:
-Mitt Romney saves the XIX winter olympics at Salt Lake City.
This event is significant because many people, including myself support some of Mitt Romney's ideals.
-President George W. Bush signs the No Child Left Behind Act.
This event is significant because without this I may not receiving my IEP services.
-The Mars Odyssey finds signs of large ice deposits on the planet Mars.
This event is significant because I am exuberant about the possibility of finding at least microbial life on Mars.

In Popular Culture:
-Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"Chicago" wins Best Picture.
"Metroid Prime" wins Nintendo's Game of the Year award. 2005

We went on vacation to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan this summer and stayed in a cabin by Lake Michigan.

In American History:
-Hurricane Katrina devastates much of the U.S. Gulf Coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, killing more than 1,836 and causing over $115 billion in damage.
This event is significant because if Hurricane Katrina was stronger Ohio might have been hit with the aftermath of the storm.
-YouTube, the popular Internet site on which videos may be shared and viewed by others, is launched in the United States.
This event is significant because I spend a lot of time on Youtube while learning things in the process.
-Condoleezza Rice is sworn in as U.S. Secretary of State, becoming the first African American woman to hold the post.
This event is significant because I am a supporter of African Americans and Women being in US government.

In Popular Culture:
-U2 gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"Crash" wins Best Picture.
-"Resident Evil 4" wins Nintendo's Game of the Year award. We got a big pull along camper and went camping in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

In American History:
-The pedestal of the Statue of Liberty reopens after being closed since the September 11, 2001 attacks.
This event affected me because I want peace and freedom in the world.
-Massachusetts becomes the first U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage.
This event affected me because I am a supporter of homo-sexual marriage if they truly love each other.
-The World War II Memorial is dedicated in Washington, D.C.
This event is significant because I enjoy learning about World War II and those who were involved.

In Popular Culture:
-Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Sex Pistols get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
-"The Departed" wins Best Picture.
-"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" wins Nintendo's Game of the Year award.
