Copy of Short-term and Long-term Environmental Changes
Transcript of Copy of Short-term and Long-term Environmental Changes
8th Grade Balch Springs M.S Short Term Changes A short-term environmental change is drought, smog, flooding, volcanic eruption, blizzards, and pollution this could happen in anyone of the food webs.
This may effect how animals will end up having to have to adapt to their environment in order to continue to survive there and not die off. Long-term environmental changes are... ice ages, deforestation, urbanization, Earth’s orbit, Sun’s intensity, Global Warming, radioactive waste/pollution, extinction of species this could happen to anyone of the food webs. Effect The change can/will destroy the environment which in the long run can cause one of three things:
First effect- cause the organism to have to adpat to the new environment.
Second effect- cause the organisms to have to relocate.
Third effect- cause the organisms end up going extinct. Examples of Short Term Changes Long Term- The Ice Age caused all of those organisms from that period in time to go extinct.
Short Term- Hurricains only cause organisms to have adapt to the new changes in the enironment. Examaple I Can... identify how short-term and long-term changes affect organisms and traits in subsequent populations TEK 8.11C If an organism faces many environmental changes in rapid succession they will not have engough time to adapat so the most likely outcome will be extinction.
However if there is only one or few changes then adaptions will arise aiding in an organisms survival. Extinction or Survival 1)list 2 biotic and 2 abiotic factors.
2)list the 3 major ecosystems.
3)write the formula for water and label all its parts. Examples of long term changes
