DISASTER
?
A natural catastrophe that happens suddenly and causes great damage or loss of life.
The
difference
between DISASTER and ACCIDENT?

Disasters
are usually caused by nature, that's why we call them natural disasters.
Accidents
are usually caused by human error.
VOLCANIC ERUPTION
An opening in the earth's crust through which molten lava, ash, and gases are ejected.
AVALANCHE
A fall or slide of a large mass, as of snow or rock, down a mountainside.
Let's learn some words related to natural disasters.
When there is no rain for a long time we call it.....
What is an
ACCIDENT
?
A sudden event that is not planned and which causes damage or injury.
DROUGHT
A drastic, wide-reaching food shortage
ACCIDENTS
shipwreck - plane crash - car accident - derailment - fire
FLOOD
An overflowing of water onto land that is normally dry.
EARTHQUAKE
the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust (*pluta) that creates seismic waves

A very large ocean wave caused by an underwater earthquake or volcanic eruption.
Tornado
A rotating column of air, a violently destructive windstorm occurring over land.
