It is said that by 2050 the popluation will have grown to 132.8 million people. Making it the largest minority in US history. In the Latino culture, being a mother is something very special. They are very matriarchal, Latinos believe in keeping the family very close.
The term Familismo means respect for family members and obligations to the family.
The family is a person's main source of pride, strength, and identity Mother Knows best! The Pew Hispanic Center did a servey on English versus Spanish Language among Latinos. The results reported that 87% of Hispanics believed Hispanic Immigrants need to learn English to be successful in America.
95% of Hispanic adults reported that it is important to keep your native language. Language The largest religious Latino group is Catholic followed by Protestants, Evangelicals, and Unaffiliated. Latinos are more religious in their culture and are more likley to belong as well as attend a religious service.
Politics and Social Issues
Latinos are characterized as more socially conservative than most americans and the majority tend to be more liberal on issues.
Latinos are very conservative when it comes to abortion, but believe that Gay marriage should be accepted in the united states. They also have no problem with interacial marriage.
