Many people mistake the sun as a planet. But actually it's not. It's a star. As a matter of fact it's a very small one but it seems so big because it's closer than others. Another thing is that without the sun, there would be no life on planet Earth.
THE SUN
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and its the smallest planet known with a diameter of 4,879 km . Mercury is named after the roman god Mercury, the messenger of all gods.
Mercury
Venus is the second closest to the sun. It is named after the goddess of love and beauty. Its both, the closest in size to the Earth and closest in distance.
Venus
Earth is the planet me and you stand on right now. It is the only known planet to have life on it. Also its the third planet from the sun and is one of the only planets that have an atmosphere.
Earth
Mars is home to the biggest volcano in the universe(Olympus Mons). Scientists think that Mars ( also known as the red planet) may have had life or still has life on Mars. There may have also been water on it.
Mars
What is a super nova?
Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system with a diameter of 142,984 km . Close to south, it has a huge red storm. Another cool fact is that it has 63 moons unlike us, with only 1 moon
Jupiter
Saturn (with the help of its rings) is the 2nd biggest planet after Jupiter with a diameter of 120,536 km. Its 93 times bigger than earth. It has 62 moons.53 are named and the rest aren't.
Saturn
All of the planets rotate on a horizontal axis while Uranus spins on a vertical axis. there is a theory that it rains Diamonds on Uranus.
Uranus
fun fact.
A supernova is so bright that it can over-take all the light in a galaxy!
Neptune
Neptune is named after the roman god of sea. It's the fourth largest planet in diameter and third largest in mass
when a star dies it explodes and turns into a super-nova explosion
What is a black hole
The black hole is a cruel and soul-sucking
hole in space that sucks up anything that gets in it's way.

What is gravity like on Mercury?
The gravity on Mercury is 38% of the gravity on Earth. A 100 pound person would weigh only 38 pounds on Mercury. To calculate your weight on Mercury, just multiply your weight by 0.38.
Whats the gravity like on Venus?
The gravity on Venus is 91% of the gravity on Earth. A 100-pound person would weigh 91 pounds on Venus. To find your weight on Venus simply multiply your weight by 0.91.
Whats the gravity like on Earth?
The gravity on Earth is normal. A person who weighs 100 pounds would weigh 100% of his weight which would be 100 pounds
Whats the gravity like on Mars?
The gravity on Mars is 39% the gravity on Earth. A man weighing 100 pounds on Earth would weigh 39 pounds on Mars.
The gravity on Jupiter is only 254% of the gravity on Earth. This is because Jupiter is such a large planet. A man weighing 100 pounds on Earth would weigh 254 pounds on Jupiter.
Whats the gravity like on Jupiter?
Whats the gravity like on Saturn?
the gravity on Saturn is only 1.08 times the gravity on Earth. This is because Saturn is such a large planet.
A 100 pound person would only weigh 108 pounds on Saturn.
Whats the gravity like on Uranus?
The gravity on Uranus is only 91% of the gravity on Earth. This is because it is such a large planet.
A 100-pound person on Uranus would weigh 91 pounds.
The gravity on Neptune is only 1.19 times of the gravity on Earth.
A 100-pound person would weigh 119 pounds on Neptune.
