Timothy McGee (McGee)Age:34McGee is a special agent investigating crime in this police procedural show. He started out as a minor character in the first season, but became one of the main characters of the ensemble cast in the beginning of season two.McGee was born in Bethesda, Maryland on September 13, 1978. He spent his childhood in Alameda, California, as his father was a naval officer stationed there. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science degree in computer forensics from MIT.He worked for a time at the NCIS field office in Norfolk, Virginia before being transferred to the headquarters in the Washington Navy Yard which was made permanent. His younger sister, Sarah McGee, attends Waverly College and intends to be a writer like her older brother.Special Agent Timothy McGee, commonly referred to by Special Agent Tony DiNozzo as "Probie", "McGeek", "McQueen", "McGoo", "Probie wan kenobi", or even "Baldy McBald" (and many, many more) is part of a major case squad led by Special Agent Gibbs. He gained his field agent status when he was transferred to Washington from Norfolk. In addition to responding to crime scenes and conducting investigations (along with the rest of the field team), McGee also serves as Gibbs's computer consultant and sometimes assists Abby Sciuto in the forensics lab when necessary. Now that Ziva David is the newest agent, Tony calls her "Probie" or "Probette", but still uses variations of Tim's last name, such as "McGeek" and other names. Ziva DavidAge:31 Ziva: "Brilliance"; birth date November 12, 1982, Be’er Sheva in the Negev desert of southern Israel. David replaced Caitlin “Kate” Todd, who was killed at the hands of Ziva's half-brother, Ari Haswari.Ziva is introduced to the show as an Israeli citizen, agent of the Mossad, daughter of Mossad Director Eli David, and friend of NCIS Director Jenny Shepard. She was assigned to NCIS as a liaison officer in an arrangement between Eli and Jenny, a position she held for four years until she returned to Mossad in the Season 6 finale, "Aliyah". After Tony fatally shot her boyfriend Michael Rivkin and her apartment was bombed, Ziva told Gibbs that she could not continue to work with Tony as she no longer trusted him. Gibbs chose to leave her in Israel, saying that he would give her time to "remember who she could trust". Shortly after returning to Mossad full-time, she was sent on a mission to take down a terrorist in Somalia named Saleem Ulman. However, after one member of her team was killed and the other two injured, leaving her the only agent able to continue, she sent the remaining two back to Israel and opted to continue on to the terrorist camp alone. She was subsequently captured and suffered several months of torture and abuse.Believed to be dead in the first episode of season seven “Truth or Consequences", Ziva was nonetheless found alive later in the episode, rescued by DiNozzo and McGee, and with Gibbs killing her captor himself.Following her rescue, she resigned from Mossad and applied to become a full-fledged NCIS agent and an American citizen. Ziva received mandatory psych evaluations and therapy but refused to discuss with anyone what had happened to her in Saleem's camp. While little is revealed about Ziva’s personal life, it is known that, while she is on close terms with all the members of the NCIS team, she is especially close with Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Anthony DiNozzo. Michael Bashan (a senior Mossad officer) accused Ziva of sleeping with DiNozzo in “Shalom”, saying: “Did you or did you not sleep with him?”, but she did not answer the question. There is a great deal of sexual tension between Tony and Ziva, which is a recurring theme in many episodes, from her first appearance and on. In McGee's book, the characters based on Tony and Ziva ("Tommy" and "Lisa") are engaged in a relationship, which Tony and Ziva both claim to find irritating.During season four, Ziva developed a short but intense friendship with Lt. Roy Sanders, who had been intentionally exposed to radiation by a co-worker, in "Dead Man Walking". Ziva knew him from her daily run, during which he always passes her at a high rate of speed. As he got progressively sicker, it became clear that he was dying from radiation poisoning. He asked if she would have noticed him if he had just stopped running. She replied that eventually she might have forgotten him, but that she will never forget him now.In this episode, Tony showed both his concern and his support for Ziva. He expressed concern that she might be hurt if Sanders dies, and he showed his support for her by distracting Sanders' doctor so Ziva and Lt. Sanders can have some alone time. The orange beanie that Ziva wore in subsequent episodes was the same one that Lt. Sanders used to wear when he went running. In Season 7, Tony believed that Ziva was dead and went to avenge her murder along with McGee. Finally, Ziva was brought to talk to him. She had been badly beaten and was very weak and unsure of how to react at Tony's presence. She then told him he should not have come, but Tony explained that he "couldn't live without [her]".Eventually, Gibbs killed their captor, a terrorist named Saleem Ulman, with a long range head shot. Ziva, Tony, and McGee were able to escape to safety and returned to the US with Gibbs.Even after they return home, there seemed to be a great degree of awkwardness between them, which was only resolved when Ziva confronted Tony in the men's room and thanked him, saying he would "always have her back" before kissing him on the cheek. Following that, their relationship was as it had been before Tony killed Rivkin.Ziva is an Israeli Jew, and was always seen wearing a Star of David pendant until her capture in Somalia, where her captor ripped it off her neck.In "Faith", a gold chain appears on her neck and in "Flesh and Blood" she is shown wearing a silver Star of David pendant; it's unclear who gave it to her or whether she bought it herself. In "Good Cop, Bad Cop", shortly before her captivity, she said that she "would sooner die than take this necklace off. Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo Jr.Age: In his early 30’s.Tony comes from a wealthy Italian American family is from Long Island, New York. He is an only child, but has been cut off from his family's fortune. His mother, maiden name Paddington, died when he was eight years old. According to Tony, she died in the hospital while they were watching a movie.Tony's father, Anthony DiNozzo Sr., is an American Civil War reenactor and as a child, Tony would carry the "poop bucket" during reenactments. This has resulted in a dislike of anything relating to the Civil War It has also been suggested that his father was emotionally neglectful, and at one point Tony was left in a hotel room for two days when his father left for a supposed business meeting. In the season finale of Season 1, entitled “Reveille” Ducky noted that in Italy, Tony's ancestors' home country, most boys his age were still living with their mother, while Tony lives in his own apartment. Tony attended Rhode Island Military Academy as a teenager, and graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education. During his time at Ohio State, he was on the varsity basketball team and made it to the Final Four before losing to UCLA.He has worked in three different police departments—Peoria, Philadelphia, and Baltimore—staying in each location for an average of two years. At the end of his stint with Baltimore's homicide division, he was hired by NCIS.When Gibbs retires to Mexico after being blown up and sent into a coma in season 3, Tony leads the team skillfully in Gibbs' absence. After Gibbs comes out of retirement he returns to his previous position. Director Shepard offered Tony a team of his own, but he declined because Gibbs was experiencing some after-effects from his coma. During Season 8 he meets E.J. Barrett, who took the post as team leader in Spain that he had previously rejected. RelationshipsTony has a friendly relationship with Abby Sciuto. She has shown the strength of their friendship in such cases as when she did everything possible to find out who the real killer was when her assistant framed him for murder, when he was seemingly blown up and when he returned from his time as an agent afloat.Abby constantly shows her feelings for Tony, as "I love you, and would hate to see you hurt". She can be upset with him at times, such as when someone ate her cupcake, when NCIS director Jenny Shepard was killed and he and Ziva Daivd were not where they were supposed to be, but these feelings have resolved and she is back to her normal behavior. It is often shown that Tony regards Abby as the little sister he never had, a feeling she appears to reciprocate. Abby is as big a movie fan as Tony himself is, and that also solidifies their relationship. Ever since they first met, in Kill Ari Part 2, Ziva and Tony are close. They often try to outdo each other in verbal and physical competitions. Ziva taunts Tony in much the same way Kate did before she was killed. Some aspects of Ziva's personality disturb him, such as the fact that she sleeps with a gun in her hand and snores very loudly, as shown in the episode “Under Covers”. During that episode, Tony and Ziva repeatedly faked sexual intercourse to solidify their cover as married assassins. The FBI agents who were monitoring them told McGee that they believed the sex was real, making him wonder what really happened between Tony and Ziva. During that episode Tony was caught by Ziva when he was happily staring at her. He then explained saying that he was trying to imagine her pregnant since that was what Ziva's cover was. Also during this episode, Ziva referred to Tony as "My Little Hairy Butt" and "My Little Furry Bear." In the subsequent episode, “Frame Up”, Ziva rated Tony's butt a two out of five, telling him, "I took three points off for excessive hair." He replied delightedly, "That's a five!," to which Ziva chuckled and said, "If you shave."In the episode “Shalom”, Ziva learned that Mossad, apparently on her father's orders, had been spying on her for several months; the surveillance reveals that Tony had been visiting Ziva at her apartment at least once a week for the past three months, leading to suggestions that the two have become intimate—or merely that they see each other socially. She neither confirmed nor denied the implication of intimacy in the episode.
