Stem changing verbs are verbs that change inside the stem. They only occur when you conjugate your verb inside the "boot". When the verb that is being conjugated is inside the boot, you take the e in the stem and change it to an ie. The verb outside the boot doesn't recieve the stem change (nosotros form) This occurs in the PRESENT TENSE

These next two stem changes are a little different. Instead of the "boot" like in the ones before, these next two follow the "sandle" form. Just the el/ella/usted and ellos/ellas/ustedes follow the stem change. These stem changes also DON'T happen in the present tense...
This stem change occurs when you conjugate your verb inside the "sandal". When the verb that is being conjugated is inside the sandal, you take the e in the stem and change it to an i. The verb outside the sandal doesn't recieve the stem change This occurs in the
PRETERITE
TENSE.
