I could relate to Anita
Each chapter was a journal entry
I thought the middle of the book was a little slow. Review "Its like my whole world is coming undone, but when I write, my pencil is a needle and thread and I'm stitching the scraps back together"(101).
This quote shows and explains that no matter how much Anita's life is falling apart, writing keeps her somewhat sane and calm. Quotes Born in New York but, later moved to the Dominican Republic where she was raised.

Anita's family becomes very involved in the elimination of the country's dictator
