Harvesting:
1.) Cut carefully, spines removed with knives or sticks.


Recipes:
1.) Place 2-3 pieces of dried bark in a cup.
2.) Fill cup with (near) boiling water.
3.) let steep for 5 minutes.
1.) Dice up the devil's club pieces.
2.) Put equal measures of firmly packed devil's club bark and oil (olive or coconut) into a double boiler.
3.) Keep on a low heat for 2 to 4 days to allow the bark to release the chemicals.
4.) Strain with a cheesecloth into a bowl.
5.) Spoon into smaller containers (with lids).

2.) Outer bark is brown in colour and is scraped off with something with a metal edge.

3.) Inner green bark is peeled off and chopped into 3 cm by 1 cm pieces.

4.) All pieces can be placed in a cardboard box or paper bag to dry (about 1 week). Place in smaller bags to store.
