Transcript of wind terbines

wind turbines by Fionn what is wind power? wind power is wind being turned into power with wind terbines. how many types of wind terbines are there? There are two main types of wind turbines, horizontal axis and vertical axis. Each one has several types of its own. Horizontal axis wind turbines are the common type, that we see. A horizontal axis wind terbines have a similar design to a windmill, it has blades that look like a propeller. Verticalaxis wind turbines have the main rotor shaft arranged vertically that is why they are called vartical axis wind terbines. The main advantage of this arrangement is that the wind turbine does not need to be faceing the wind. vartical axis wind terbine wind mills wind mills have been used to pump water and grind grain to make flower witch makes bread. Windmills work by wind traveling through the sails the sails are on angle whitch makes the blade move. Inside there are two stones that grind grain.
The millstones spin a around, They are laid one on top of the other. The bottom stone is fixed to the floor, while the top stone is the runner,it is mounted on a separate spindle, driven by the main shaft. Grain gets put onto the bottom millstone witch gets crushed. The crushed wheat gets made into flower and the flower gets taken to a baker and gets made into bread. how is wind made into electricity? .The wind that turnes the proprala makes the windterbine turn two or three propeller-like blades around a rotor, the rotor is connected to the main shaft, which spins a generator to create electricity. wind terbines are placed on a tower they are 30 meaters or more above ground.

.Wind turbines can be used to produce electricity for a single home or building, or they can be connected to an electricity grid for wide spred distrobution to houses this is the Wilton Windmill
