Timeline Project 1790 1750 1770 June 1753 1760 1780 The Albany Plan was the first
attempt for a unified country. February 1763 The french and indian war was the first major war fought on american ground October 1763 The Proclamation of 1763 restricted the colonization west of the Appellation Mountains. May 1764 A tax on sugar passed by the British so they could make money up from the French and Indian War. April 1765 The Stamp Act was a tax on all paper products going in and out of the colonies. March 1770 The Boston Massacre was a accidental killing of Bostonians. May 1772 In the Committee of Correspondence they talked about ways they can rebel against Britain. December 1773 At the Boston Tea Party the sons of liberty dressed as indians and threw tea of ships in Boston. March 1774 The Intolerable Acts were a response to the Boston Tea Party and the British thought that they would make an example to Massachusetts but it just made matters worse. September 1774 The first Continental Congress was a direct response to the Intolerable Acts. April 1775 The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first major battle of the Revolutionary War June 16, 1775 The Battle of Bunker was a British victory even though the colonists had higher ground. May 1775 The second Continental Congress set up a navy and Marine Corp. and made George Washington leader of the Continental Army. June 8, 1775 The Olive Branch Petition was an attempt at peace with Britain But they refused. March 1776 The Battle of Boston gave Paul Revere and other riders time warn people that the British are coming. July 1776 The Declaration of Independence was a document that told Britain that they want to be their own country and what Britain was doing wrong and what they are going to do it about it. September 1777 The Articles Confederation was the fist attempt at a national government. October 1777 the Battle of Saratoga was the first American victory and got France and Spain to fight with the Americans Winter 1777-1778 Valley Forge was an encampment where the American troops stayed through the winter and was drilled by Baron Von Steuben to be an Army rather than a militia. September 1781 The Battle of Yorktown was the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. September 1783 The Treaty of Paris was the treaty that ended the Revolutionary War. September 1786 Shay's Rebellion was a response to the tax on whiskey in the United States of America. July 1787 It allowed the surveying of the northwest territories in an effort to boost revenue. September 1787 During the Constitutional convention the came up with a better way to run the country. September 1787 The Constitution was the new outline for the government and still is. September 1789 The Bill of Rights are the things that America will do that Britain didn't do for the people.
