Arbres généalogiques Eddard Stark Lord Eddard Stark, also known as "Ned", is the second eldest son of Lord Rickard Stark.
After his father and eldest brother Brandon got killed, Eddard went to battle with Lyanna's fiance, Lord Robert Baratheon, his foster father, Lord Jon Arryn and Lord Hoster Tully. This became known as Robert's Rebellion.
They killed Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, Lyanna's kidnapper, in the battle of Trident but didn't get in time to save Lyanna, who died the moment she was rescued.
As a prize, Eddard became the King in the North, Head of the Stark House, Lord Paramount of the North, Warden of the North and Lord of Winterfell after his father and took Brandon's fiance, Catelyn Tully, the eldest daughter of Hoster, as wife.
He later became the Right Hand of his friend, King Robert I Baratheon, after Jon, who was the previous Hand, died in suspicious circumstances.
Since he took this job, Eddard discovered something between Robert's wife, Queen Cersei Lannister and her twin brother Ser Jaime Lannister. He believed they are more than just brother and sister.
Before he could tell this to the King, Robert got wounded from a hunting accident, which Eddard thought that was a bad time to spit the truth out. On his death bed Robert told Eddard that he was to be the next ruler before he died.
But everyone ignored it, including his wife, who put her eldest son Joffrey Baratheon as King and herself as Queen Regent. Eddard challenged it, believing Joffrey was the result of Queen Cersei and Jaime's weird relationship.
He was arrested by Joffrey for treason. He was beheaded in front of his two daughters, despite of honestly confessing his treason to Joffrey for the protection of his family.
Since then the Lannisters and Starks hated each other and became part of the War of the Five Kings.
Wanting his sister back, Brandon Stark, Rickard's eldest son and heir, went to King's Landing to ask the King for Lyanna and to punish his son. But the King imprisoned Brandon and Rickard was called up to meet them in court, making it sound like a trial.
It wasn't so when the "Mad King" burned Rickard alive inside his armor with wildfire.
This triggered the civil war known as Robert's Rebellion. Brandon Stark Brandon Stark is not shown in the Game of Throne series as he was already dead.
He was the eldest son and heir of Lord Rickard Stark.
He was going to marry Catelyn Tully, the eldest daughter of the Tully House Lord, Hoster Tully.
He was on his way to Riverrun to have his wedding when he heard his younger sister, Lyanna, got captured by King Aerys II Targaryen's son and heir, Prince Rhaegar.
With plans changed, Brandon went to King's Landing, demanding justice on the prince and to have his sister back.
The "Mad King" killed him instead by tying him to a device that strangles him when he moves. In that case he was moving a lot when he watched his father burn alive. Lovely King.
These grizzly murders triggered Robert's Rebellion. Eddard kept a family greatsword called Ice, which was used in ceremonial occasions. Lyanna Stark Lyanna Stark is only shown as a statue in the Game of Throne series as she is already dead.
She was the only daughter of Lord Rickard Stark.
As well as beautiful, she was known as a fierce woman and a strong horse rider, which someone compared to her niece Princess Arya Stark.
Lyanna was going to marry Lord Robert Baratheon but it fell apart when she got captured by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, the heir to the Iron Throne, who took her south and hid her in Dorne, triggering the civil war Robert's Rebellion. No one exactly knows why Rhaegar captured her. Could it be jealousy?
Anyway Lyanna was rescued during the civil war but suddenly died in her brother Eddard's arms.
She was buried next to her eldest brother Brandon Stark in the Winterfell crypts. Benjen Stark Actor: Joseph Mawle Benjen Stark is the youngest son of Rickard Stark.
He is a member of the Night's Watch, a military force that patrols the Wall and guards the Northern borders of the Seven Kingdoms.
He brings his older brother Lord Eddard's "bastard" son, Jon Snow, to join the Night's Watch.
And that's it about him. Sorry. Catelyn Tully Actor: Michelle Fairley Originally Jennifer Ehle was going to play as Catelyn but the role was recast.
Lady Catelyn Tully is the eldest daughter of Lord Hoster and Lady Minisa Tully.
She was going to marry the eldest son of the Stark House, Brandon, but he was killed by "Mad King" Aerys II Targaryen after the kidnapping of Brandon's sister Lyanna, which triggered Robert's Rebellion.
After the war, she married Brandon's younger brother Lord Eddard. They hardly knew each other but it was all worth it in the end.
The only downside to their marriage was Eddard's illegitimate son, Jon Snow.
While her husband stayed in King's Landing as King Robert Baratheon's Right Hand, Catelyn followed him to warn him that the Lannisters are involved with their son Brandon Stark's accident.
On the way back to Winterfell she came upon Ser Tyrion Lannister and took him into custody to know more about the Lannisters' involvement with Brandon. This lead into Eddard's arrest for treason, although another reason for his arrest was because of his questioning against King Joffrey Baratheon's legitimacy.
Since his death Catelyn has sworn revenge on the Lannisters and is fighting along with her eldest son, Lord Robb Stark. Robb Stark Actor: Richard Madden King Robb Stark, also known as "The Young Wolf", is the eldest son of Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark.
He was born in Riverrun, his mother's birthplace, but was raised in Winterfell, his father's place. Eddard left the morning after his wedding to fight in Robert's Rebellion and came back after Robb was born.
After his dad's execution, Robb took his line as the King in the North, Head of the Stark House, Warden and Lord Paramount of the North and Lord of Winterfell, swore revenge on King Joffrey Baratheon, and created a rebellion to break the North away from the control of the Iron Throne.
Recently he secretly married Talisa Maegyr, a Volantene gentlewoman who served him as a healer, which didn't make his mum happy. After a few months, she broke the news of her pregnancy. Sansa Stark Actor: Sophie Turner Princess Sansa Stark is the eldest daughter of Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark and recently the wife of Ser Tyrion Lannister.
She enjoys being a "princess" and is good at sewing, poetry and music.
She wanted to become a Queen like Cersei Lannister and always dreamed of having a knight in shining armor.
She thought she saw the one in Prince Joffrey Baratheon and was thrilled to be betrothed to him.
It wasn't long before she noticed Joffrey is quite cruel to her and was especially ruthless when he executed her father.
Although Joffrey set aside the betrothal for Lady Margaery Tyrell, widow of his father's youngest brother, Lord Renly, Sansa remains a prisoner of the Lannisters in King's Landing.
Her hopes of escaping King's Landing came up when Margaery suggested marrying her handsome brother Ser Loras and live in Highgarden with them, but it was turned down when she was forced to marry Tyrion. Now a Lannister, she is totally trapped in King's Landing and is expected by everyone to produce a Lannister child with Tyrion, even though she is only fourteen! Robb adopts a direwolf called Grey Wind Sansa adopted a direwolf called Lady but she was executed by Eddard for Queen Cersei's pleasure. Her son Prince Joffrey was attacked by Sansa's younger sister Arya's direwolf, Nymeria, but Arya shooed her away before the Queen found out. Still wanting punishment for Joffrey's attack, Cersei ordered Lady to be executed. Poor Lady! Arya Stark Actor: Maizie Williams Princess Arya Stark or "Arry" as she is called when disguised as a boy, is the youngest daughter of Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark.
She's completely different to her older sister Princess Sansa - she doesn't like being a princess and doesn't want to marry a rich man, for she feels she can find her destiny on her own.
Taking after her father and her aunt Lyanna, Arya has a fascination with warfare, sword training and horse riding. She had training lessons with Syrio Forel, a master swordsman from Braavos.
She has a close relationship with her half-brother Jon Snow, who is also kind of an outcast. He made a sword for her, which she named Needle.
After witnessing her father's execution, Arya tried to flee from King's Landing with the help of a Night's Watch recruiter Yoren. However they were attacked by the Lannisters and Yoren got killed. Taken by the Lannisters to Harrenhal, she became Tywin Lannister's cupbearer without him knowing her true identity, then escaped into the Riverlands with a group of bandits known as the Brotherhood Without Banners before getting captured by Ser Sandor Clegane and finally taken to Riverrun back to her brother Lord Robb and her mum as a bargain. Arya's sword Needle Arya adopted a direwolf named Nymeria but they have been separated since they attacked Prince Joffrey Baratheon Brandon Stark Actor: Isaac Hempstead-Wright Prince Brandon Stark or "Bran" as people usually called him, is the second youngest son of Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark and his eldest brother Lord Robb's heir.
He was named after his uncle, Brandon Stark, who was killed by "Mad King" Aerys II Targaryen.
He loved to climb the walls of Winterfell and always dreamed of becoming a knight of the Kingsguard and fight one day with Robb.
While climbing on the roofs, Bran spotted Queen Cersei and her twin brother Ser Jaime Lannister having sex. Oh my! To shut him up, Jaime pushed Bran off the roof. He survived but was left with shattered legs and a coma. He is never able to walk again and has a servant named Hodar to carry him around and a device that enables him to ride his horse.
Bran is known as a Warg, a person who possesses the magical ability to enter the minds of animals. He also has the power of greensight, which gives him prophetic visions in his dreams.
One of his visions was about the arrival of Theon Greyjoy, a hostage of the Starks, who came back to take over Winterfell. Bran managed to run away along with his younger brother Prince Rickon, their direwolves and his servants and friends Hodar and Osha.
They meet two siblings, Jojen and Meera Reed, and discovering that Jojen has greensight as well, he invites them to join him, much to Osha's disappointment.
Bran plans to find his half-brother Jon Snow at the Wall, even though Jojen predicts that Jon is somewhere else. Bran adopted a direwolf called Summer. They have a very special connection for Bran is a Warg and could enter Summer's vision. During his coma, he watched through Summer's eyes. Rickon Stark Actor: Art Parkinson Prince Rickon Stark is the youngest son of Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark.
He is named after his grandfather, Rickard Stark, who was killed by "Mad King" Aerys II Targaryen.
While his family is torn apart, Rickon stays in Winterfell with her older brother Prince Brandon until Theon Greyjoy takes over the land, which at this point they have escaped and hid.
Rickon adopted a direwolf named Shaggydog. It's a tad dark but this is Shaggydog Wylla Jon Snow Wylla is pronounced "Why-luh" not "Will-luh".
It is not certain whether she is the mother of Lord Eddard's illegitimate son, Jon Snow, but Eddard did mention her name to his friend King Robert Baratheon when talking about women in their time. He explained that Wylla was a serving girl during Robert's Rebellion and left it at that.
It is not even certain whether she's alive. But old Eddard is not very chatty about Jon's mother, knowing that he was bad enough to his wife, Lady Catelyn Tully.
Robert mentions that they both slept with other women during Robert's Rebellion, not knowing if they'll survive the war and face the consequences, which means to say it's not really Eddard's fault.
Eddard was going to explain about Wylla to Jon soon, but "soon" was when he had his head lopped off so Jon's mother will still remain a mystery... Actor: Kit Harington Jon Snow is the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark. He has no knowledge of his mother although Eddard did mention he slept with a serving girl called Wylla. And that was where he left it.
He was raised in Winterfell together with his half-brothers and sisters.
His presence was always the source of friction between Eddard and his wife, Lady Catelyn Tully.
Jon got along well with his half-siblings, particularly with the eldest Robb and the youngest sister Arya.
Knowing that Jon would not earn anything due to his illegitimacy, he joined the Night's Watch by his uncle, Benjen Stark.
Recently he got captured by the Free Folk, also known as the "Wildlings", an enemy group of the Night's Watch, that live beyond the Northern borders. But he immediately asked to join them, knowing that the real threat to the Seven Kingdoms are what the Free Folk are fighting: White Walkers, a mysterious, deadly race that live beyond the Northern Borders.
Recently he has a relationship with one of the Free Folk members, Ygritte, who used to be his captive when he was a Night's Watchman. Jon Snow adopted a direwolf named Ghost. Similar to Jon, in a sad way, Ghost is very different compared to his brothers and sisters as he has different colored coat and is the runt of the litter. They have been separated since Jon got captured by the Free Folk, with Ghost staying at Night's Watch. Jon was given the bastard sword Longclaw as a present from the Night's Watch Lord Commander, Jeor Mormont, who thought of Jon as a son. Talisa Maegyr Actor: Oona Chaplin Queen Talisa Maegyr is the wife of Lord Robb Stark, the King in the North.
She was born and raised in Volantis, the oldest and largest of the Free Cities.
When she was 12, she went swimming in a river with her younger brother and friends. Later on she discovered her younger brother lying lifeless in the water. She pulled him out but couldn't save him. Then a slave came over and miraculously brought him to life again. Since then, Talisa decided to do two things when she came of age: to not waste her life learning to dance like the other noblewomen in Volantis, and to never live in a town where slaves were legal. So she did medical training and moved to Westeros where she served Robb as a healer in the battlefields during the War of the Five Kings.
Robb and Talisa married secretly, knowing that Robb's mother Lady Catelyn Tully did not approve of it because Talisa was a foreign.
She recently announced that she is with Robb's child. ` Lysa Tully Actor: Kate Dickie Lady Lysa Tully is the second daughter of Lord Hoster and Lady Minisa Tully and wife of Lord Jon Arryn, who was the Right Hand of King Robert Baratheon.
She married Jon after Robert's Rebellion and lived in King's Landing with him while he served as the Right Hand of King Robert Baratheon. Just to let you know, Jon was very old and she was still a teenager when they married. That's a little awkward.
Anyway after her husband's sudden death however, Lysa fled to the Eyerie in the Vale of Arryn, her husband's home, and since then has shut herself away from society with her only son, Lord Robin Arryn. She wrote a letter to her eldest sister, Lady Catelyn Stark, suspecting that it was the Lannisters who poisoned her husband.
She is considered to be a little loopy - she still gives her son breast milk when he's now six!
Robin was given the title of Lord Paramount of the Vale by his father but because he's too young, Lysa is Lady Regent until he comes of age. Edmure Tully Actor: Tobias Menzies Lord Edmure Tully is the youngest son and heir of Lord Hoster and Lady Minisa Tully and has recently inherited the titles as Lord of Riverrun, Lord Paramount of the Riverlands and Head of the Tully House after his father died.
Right now he is under pressure to marry one of the daughters of Lord Walder Frey, Head of the Frey House, as a way to get more people on Lord Robb Stark's side against the Lannisters. Hoster Tully Lord Hoster Tully is first shown floating in the coffin. That means to say he's already dead.
He was Head of the Tully House, Lord Paramount of the Riverlands and Lord of Riverrun.
He arranged a marriage with his eldest daughter, Catelyn, to Lord Rickard Stark's heir, Brandon Stark, until Robert's Rebellion broke out. After defeating Prince Rhaegar Targaryen with Rickard's second son, Lord Eddard Stark, and Lord Jon Arryn, he gave Catelyn to Eddard and his second daughter Lysa to Jon Arryn.
Since then he had been poorly and weak, so his youngest son, Edmure, helped him a bit. During the War of the Five Kings, he finally died and passed his titles to Edmure. The sad thing was that Lady Catelyn never saw him since she married Eddard till he died. Minisa Whent Lady Minisa Whent is not shown in the Game of Thrones series for she is already dead.
She was the wife of Lord Hoster Tully and was born from the House of Whent. That's all I know from her background.
She gave birth to six children but only Catelyn, Lysa and Edmure survived.
She died when giving birth to her fourth son. Her surviving children hardly remember her. Tully House Bryden Tully Actor: Clive Russell Ser Brynden Tully, also known as "Blackfish" is the younger brother of Lord Hoster Tully.
He is a knight and battle commander of the Tully House.
He often argued with Hoster, particularly about Brynden never wanting to marry. Marriages are usually good for joining Houses but Brynden turned down every engagement. Jon Arryn Actor: Sir John Standing Lord Jon Arryn is first and last shown in the Game of Throne series lying dead.
He was Lord of the Eyerie, Warden of the East, Defender of the Vale and was the Right Hand of King Robert Baratheon I.
He fostered both Lord Eddard Stark and Robert when they were younger and fought with them in Robert's Rebellion.
He became friends with the Tully House by marrying Lysa Tully.
As a reward for winning Robert's Rebellion, Robert, who became King, offered Jon as his Right Hand. He was very good at his job, keeping things in order while the King enjoyed parties and drinks.
He was investigating whether the children of Robert's wife Queen Cersei Lannister were actually Robert's or mixed along with her twin brother Ser Jaime, but it came to a halt when he died in King's Landing. Very suspicious. Robin Arryn Actor: Lino Facioli Lord Robin Arryn is the only son of Lord Jon and Lady Lysa Arryn.
After his father's death, he becomes Lord of the Eyerie, Head of the Arryn House and Lord Paramount of the Vale of Arryn. His mother rules as Lady Regent until he comes of age.
He was born in King's Landing when his father served King Robert Baratheon I as his Right Hand. After his father died, his mother fled from King's Landing with Robin and since then is sheltered in the Eyerie from society. Lysa is absolutely crazy about his little son: he still breastfeeds him at the age of six! Maison Stark Arryn House Tywin Lannister Actor: Charles Dance Lord Tywin Lannister is Head of the Lannister House, Lord of Casterly Rock, Lord Paramount of the Westerlands, Warden of the West and currently the Right Hand of his grandson, King Joffrey Baratheon I. What a mouthful!
Clever but ruthless, Tywin is the richest man in the Seven Kingdoms. His only concern is his family's legacy, which ruined his relationships with his own children.
He was Right Hand of King Aerys II Targaryen but quitted after the King rejected the marriage between his son Prince Rhaegar and Tywin's daughter, Cersei, and made his eldest son Ser Jaime become the Kingsguard, which took away Jaime's opportunity as Tywin's heir because Kingsguards are not allowed to have children. As a revenge, he marched to King's Landing with his men at the end of Robert's Rebellion and sacked the city, driving away and killing off the Targaryens.
Tywin absolutely hated his youngest son, Ser Tyrion, for his misshapen appearance, and the death of his wife, Lady Joanna, who died when giving birth to him. Joanna Lannister Lady Joanna Lannister is not seen in the Game of Throne series as she is already dead.
She was the cousin and wife of Lord Tywin Lannister.
Tywin absolutely loved his wife: he smiled on his wedding, which was apparently rare of him to do so.
She died when giving birth to their youngest son, Ser Tyrion, which shattered Tywin and since then has hated Tyrion.
She died when Queen Cersei and Ser Jaime were only four so they hardly remembered her. Jaime Lannister Actor: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Ser Jaime Lannister, also known as "Kingslayer", is the eldest son of Lord Twyin and Lady Joanna Lannister.
He is very close to his twin sister, Queen Cersei... very very close that they bore three children together without anyone knowing that he was the real father.
He was put by "Mad King" Aerys II Targaryen as the Kingsguard, which infuriated his father as he's not allowed to have children and as a result lost his opportunity of being the next heir. As a result, at the end of Robert's Rebellion, Tywin marched to King's Landing, sacking the city and killing off the Targaryens. According to Jaime, he killed the "Mad King", despite being his Kingsguard as he was threatened to kill his own father for the King. Jaime is since known as the infamous 'Kingslayer'.
When Jaime was young he had terrible reading difficulties that was said to be incurable. But Tywin sat with Jaime for four hours every day teaching him to read till he learned. Let's say that Jaime hated every bit of it.
Even though Twyin and Cersei hate the youngest brother, Ser Tyrion, Jaime is kind to him.
He was responsible for crippling Prince Brandon Stark by pushing him off a tower when he spotted Jaime and Cersei having sex. This sparked a hatred between the Starks and Lannisters.
Knowing he made a bad mistake, Jaime left King's Landing to fight with his father against the Riverlands. During one battle he was captured by Prince Robb's army and held prisoner, treated as a bargaining chip to release Lord Eddard Stark from prison and the Princesses Sansa and Arya Stark from King's Landing. But Eddard was executed before the news of Jaime's capture could be passed to King's Landing.
Eddard's wife, Lady Catelyn, released Jaime and tasks her bodyguard, Brienne of Tarth to escort him to King's Landing, as an exchange for her daughters. However they get kidnapped by riders from the Bolton House and taken to Harrenhal. Jaime is usually defiant and a smooth-talker during imprisonment, which angered the gang leader, Locke, and made him chop Jaime's right hand off.
Finally he was allowed to go back to King's Landing by Lord Roose Bolton, but without Brienne, for Roose sees her as valuable, after Jaime told a lie about her place Tarth and its richness, to stop the Bolton gang raping her.
On his way to King's Landing, Jaime changed direction and rode straight back to Harrenhal, just in time to rescue Brienne from a bear fight.
Since his capture, Jaime has somewhat changed his attitude of the Starks and has promised Brienne to bring Sansa and Arya back to Catelyn. Cersei Lannister Actor: Lena Headey Queen Cersei Lannister is the eldest daughter of Lord Tywin and Lady Joanna Lannister and is the widow of King Robert Baratheon I.
After her husband died, she became Queen Regent as her eldest son, Prince Joffrey Baratheon, took the Iron Throne. But no one, apart from some people, know that Joffrey isn't the legitimate heir as his real father was Cersei's twin brother, Ser Jaime, whom she has a secret sexual relationship with.
As well as Tywin, Cersei hates her little brother, Ser Tyrion, for the death of her mother.
Tywin wanted Cersei to marry "Mad King" Aerys II Targaryen's son, Prince Rhaegar, to increase the Lannister power, but when the King said no, Tywin attacked the city, which wiped away the Targaryens from King's Landing. This was during Robert's Rebellion when Robert and his men were fighting the Targaryens as well so as a reward for helping him drive away the Targaryens after Robert's Rebellion, King Robert accepted Cersei from Tywin as his bride and Queen.
Let's say it was not a loving marriage, with Robert getting drunk in parties and sleeping with lots of women while Cersei did the same with Jaime and other men.
She's ambitious for political power but hasn't got the skills, as Tywin didn't believe women should have the power, so he didn't raise her to become one. Even if she wanted to learn she doesn't have them by nature.
She spoils her children and always dreamed of her eldest son, Joffrey, becoming a great king, but that wasn't perfect as Joffrey is a bloodthirsty sociopath. She refuses to admit that Joffrey is a mad king - she loves her children so much that she gets to hardly know them.
Recently, Tywin is ordering Cersei to marry again to Ser Loras Tyrell, the brother of Joffrey's fiance, Lady Margaery Tyrell, to join the two Houses and to stop the Tyrells from taking the Iron Throne. Cersei is not very happy by this. Tyrion Lannister Actor: Peter Dinklage Tyrion Lannister is the youngest son and heir of Lord Twyin and Lady Joanna Lannister.
Despite of being prejudiced as a dwarf, Tyrion is known as very intelligent and witty.
His mother died during his birth. He was blamed for her death by Tywin and his sister, Queen Cersei, ever since.
He has been called names like 'The Imp' and 'Halfman' for his size. If he was born as a commoner, he would have been left in a forest to die and we would never see him. Good thing he's a noble.
When Tyrion was sixteen, Tywin played a dirty trick on him to go out with a prostitute. He set up a girl Tysha as a wheelwright's daughter who was attacked by rapists. While his brother, Ser Jaime, went off to fight the rapists, Tyrion looked after Tysha and they soon fell in love and got married by a drunk septon immediately. When Tywin found out about this he was furious and he paid all his guards to rape the girl in front of Tyrion as a punishment. Nasty father.
At that same age, Tywin gave Tyrion the honorable role in charge of the sewage in Tywin's home, Casterly Rock.
Tyrion was wrongly accused by Lady Catelyn Stark about the attempted murder of Prince Brandon but escaped after he won a death trial and went back to King's Landing. He lives there to avoid his father.
He was ordered by his father to act as Right Hand of his newly crowned nephew King Joffrey Baratheon, until he was massively wounded in a battle against the Baratheons and Tywin took over, as a reward for saving the day and winning the battle for King's Landing.
He took Lord Petyr's Baelish's title as the Master of Coin, one of the Small Council members of King's Landing.
Tyrion loves a bit of drinking and prostitutes and was in a passionate relationship with another prostitute called Shae, who is Princess Sansa Stark's maidservant. The affair has been kept a secret from King's Landing. However, the relationship has fallen to pieces since he was forced to marry Sansa, as a way for the Lannisters to take over Winterfell.
Even though the marriage is forced, Tyrion has a soft spot for innocent people like Sansa and will protect her, as he loves broken things. You could say he's the nicest Lannister. Kevan Lannister Actor: Ian Gelder Ser Kevan Lannister is Lord Tywin Lannister's younger brother.
He fights for his grand-nephew King Joffrey Baratheon in the War of Five Kings.
And that's all I gotta say about him. Dorna Swyft is not seen in the Game of Throne series but that doesn't mean she's dead.
She's the wife of Kevan Lannister and the daughter of Ser Harys Swyft, the Knight of Cornfield and a House Lannister bannerman.
She's not so important so I won't say anymore about her. Lancel Lannister Actor: Eugene Simon Ser Lancel Lannister is the eldest son of Ser Kevan and Dorna Lannister. He has other younger brothers and sisters too but they are so unimportant that I'm not putting them on the family tree.
He was the squire of King Robert Baratheon I, making sure he had plenty of wine.
After Robert's death, Lancel had an affair with the king's wife, Queen Cersei Lannister, who is also his cousin, and has ranked up to knighthood to fight for the king's eldest son, King Joffrey Baratheon. Joffrey Baratheon Actor: Jack Gleeson King Joffrey Baratheon is said to be the eldest son of King Robert Baratheon and Queen Cersei Lannister but is actually the result of Cersei and her twin brother Jaime's weird relationship. It's obvious to tell because he doesn't have a single dark hair - Baratheons commonly have dark features.
Even though he is not Robert's real son, Joffrey takes the Iron Throne and becomes the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.
Numerous people like Eddard Stark said that Joffrey shouldn't be king for he is not legitimate but Joffrey ended that by cutting their heads off. Executing Eddard triggered a war between the Starks and Lannisters.
He was going to marry his prisoner Princess Sansa Stark, daughter of Eddard, but recently turned it aside for Lady Margaery Tyrell, widow of Robert's youngest brother, Lord Renly.
He is known as a cruel tyrant but is also cowardly and unintelligent. A very bad mixture of vicious and idiotic as his uncle Ser Tyrion describes him. Scientifically, it's the results of Jaime and Cersei's genes too close together but it also is caused by the opportunities he has now of power and wealth that is making him a little loopy. Myrcella Baratheon Actor: Aimee Richardson Princess Myrcella Baratheon is said to be the only daughter of King Robert Baratheon and Queen Cersei Lannister but she is actually the result of Cersei and her twin brother Ser Jaime's weird relationship.
Unlike her crazy older brother, King Joffrey Baratheon, Myrcella is very quiet and sweet and is very fond of her uncle Ser Tyrion Lannister.
She was shipped to Dorne by her uncle to marry Ser Trystane Martell, the youngest son from the Martell House. She's not old enough to marry but the Martell family want her to stay with them before the wedding ceremony. It was a sad time for Myrcella but it was especially worse for her mum. Tommen Baratheon Actor: Callum Wharry Prince Tommen Baratheon is said to be the youngest son of King Robert Baratheon and Queen Cersei Lannister but is actually a result of Cersei and her twin brother Jaime's weird relationship.
He is the heir of his older brother King Joffrey Baratheon.
In contrast to Joffrey, Tommen is good-natured and passive and, like his older sister, Princess Myrcella, is fond of his uncle Ser Tyrion Lannister. Robert Baratheon Actor: Mark Addy King Robert Baratheon I was the Head of the Baratheon House, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.
His parents died when he was very young by a storm that destroyed their ship. He and his younger brother Stannis watched their ship crash into the rocks on their way back to Storm's End. Very sad. Afterwards he inherited his father's lordship and was fostered with Jon Arryn.
He was going to marry Lyanna Stark, the daughter of the Head of the Stark House, Rickard Stark, but it fell apart when Lyanna was captured by the Prince of the Dragonstone, Rhaegar Targaryen, son and heir of King Aerys II Targaryen. That was when the civil war Robert's Rebellion was triggered.
He killed Rhaegar in the Battle of the Trident with his war hammer. After he won Robert's Rebellion he took the Iron Throne and married Cersei Lannister to ally with the Lannisters.
He never loved her. Robert took to drinking and sleeping with other women. He got a lot of illegitimate kids as the result.
Ruling was not as rewarding as he thought, so Robert had his small council do all the boring jobs for him while he, you know, did his own things.
He gave his best friend and Lyanna's brother, Lord Eddard Stark, the role as his Right Hand after Jon, who was his previous Hand, died. While working, Eddard investigated the weird relationship between Cersei and her twin brother Ser Jaime. Afraid that Eddard might tell Robert about this, Cersei told his squire and her cousin, Ser Lancel Lannister, to give Robert a lot of drink while hunting. This resulted in him being fatally wounded by a boar.
Eddard was too upset to tell about his investigation to Robert while he was injured. He told Eddard that he was to be the next Protector of the Realm before Robert died. Cersei ignored Robert's will and put her eldest son Prince Joffrey Baratheon on the Iron Throne instead. Stannis Baratheon Actor: Stephen Dillane Lord Stannis Baratheon is the second eldest brother of the Baratheon House and the Lord of Dragonstone.
He served his eldest brother King Robert as the Master of Ships on the King's small council in King's Landing.
After Robert and his younger brother Lord Renly's deaths, Stannis took the titles as Head of the Baratheon House, Lord Paramount of the Stormlands and Lord of Storm's End.
Because we know that King Joffrey Baratheon was the result of Queen Cersei Lannister and her twin brother Ser Jaime's relationship and that Robert had no legitimate children with Cersei, Stannis should be the lawful heir to the Iron Throne. His titles are styled as the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and the Protector of the Realm.
Stannis fought with Robert in Robert's Rebellion and defended Storm's End against King Aerys II Targaryen's army, which left him and his people starving to death as the enemies besieged Storm's End.
He was rescued by a smuggler called Davos Seaworth, who brought a shipment of onions into the castle. He was knighted by Stannis as a reward but was also punished for smuggling by having four tips of his fingers cut off. That's nice considering Davos has saved everyone's lives. He thought that was fair though.
Stannis is converted to believing in a god known as the "Lord of Light" under the influence of the Red Priestess Melisandre.
He fought one battle against King's Landing but lost as his men were driven back by Lord Tywin Lannister's men.
With Melisandre and the "Lord of Light", he has some ways to get the Iron Throne. Renly Baratheon Actor: Gethin Anthony Lord Renly Baratheon was the youngest son in the Baratheon House and Lord of Storm's End.
When his eldest brother King Robert Baratheon I died, Renly did not support his other brother Lord Stannis nor his nephew Joffrey Baratheon as King. He claimed the Iron Throne for himself even though he was fourth in line to the throne. This lead to his assassination by a shadow being created by Stannis and his adviser the Red Priestess Melisandre.
His titles are styled as the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and the Protector of the Realm. He is also known a the King in Highgarden, after he married Lady Margaery Tyrell.

Lady Selyse Florent is the wife of Lord Stannis Baratheon and is from the Florent House of Brightwater Keep.
As well as their only daughter Princess Shireen, Selyse gave birth to three other sons, Petyr, Tommard and Edric but they were all stillborn. She keeps them in crystal containers, which contain chemicals to preserve them, in her chamber. A lack of a son and heir lead Selyse and Stannis' marriage to pieces. He was a squire of his sister Lady Margaery's husband, Lord Renly Baratheon, and had a secret love affair with him.
Wanting revenge for Renly's death caused by his older brother Lord Stannis, Loras immediately took to the Lannister's side in the War of the Five Kings.
Princess Sansa Stark had had hopes to marry Loras so she could escape from King's Landing to Highgarden but it was not so as she is in a forced marriage with Ser Tyrion Lannister.
Another bitter wedding is soon to come for Loras however, with Tryion's older sister, Queen Cersei. Mace Tyrell Lord Mace Tyrell is not seen in the Game of Throne series but that does not mean he's dead.
He is the son of Lord Luther and Lady Olenna Tyrell and has inherited the titles as Head of the Tyrell House, Lord of Highgarden, Lord Paramount of the Reach and Warden of the South after his father died.

She was born into the Hightower House from Oldtown, a powerful vassal of the Tyrell family.

She married Jorah after he won a tournament to celebrate the victory of King Robert Baratheon against the Greyjoy Rebellion, in which Lynesse offered her favour to marry him.
She is described as very beautiful but is so used to living in riches that she becomes a greedy brat. She even thought of her new home as rude and primitive. Jorah spent a lot of gold on her, which got him into a lot of trouble and was chased down by Lord Eddard Stark for arrest so they both forced to leave Bear Island and Westeros across the Narrow Sea to Essos.
In the end, Lynesse left Jorah for a rich merchant lord called Tregar Oromollen. Such a grateful woman. Jorah Mormont Actor: Iain Glen Ser Jorah Mormont is the ex-Lord of Bear Island and ex-Head of House Mormont, which is a vassal of the Stark House.

He spent so much money on his wife, Lady Lynesse Hightower, that he arrested poachers and sold them to slavers for extra money. Slavery is illegal in Westeros which resulted in him wanted for execution by Lord Eddard Stark. But Jorah and Lynesse fled Bear Island and crossed the Narrow Sea to Essos, where the Dothraki and Princess Daenerys Targaryen live. His title was given to his aunt, Maege Mormont and was known as an exile.
After all that has happened to him Lynesse left him for a richer man.
He was given a job by the spymaster Varys to spy on the Targaryens in Essos for King's Landing.

She took over her nephew Ser Jorah's title and became the Lady of Bear Island due to his exile.
She is fighting for Lord Robb Stark in the War of Five Kings.
She is the younger sister of Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.
That's all about her. Mormont House Aerys II Targaryen Liam Burke was cast to be King Aerys II Targaryen in a flashback but was cut for time and pacing so he is not shown in the Game of Throne series. He is already dead at the time.
Also known as the "Mad King", Aerys II Targaryen was crowned the Second of His Name, Head of the Targaryen House, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm and was the last King to rule in the Targaryen dynasty.
He was known as murderous and ruthless, hence being the "Mad King".
It came to a point when he let his son and heir Prince Rhaegar capture Lyanna Stark of Winterfell.
Lyanna's brother, Brandon Stark, protested the King to have his sister back but was arrested along with his father Lord Rickard and were both cruelly executed by Aerys, killing Rickard with wildfire and making Brandon kill himself with a strangulation device.
This made the noble houses Arryn, Stark, Tully and Baratheon rebel against him and the civil war Robert's Rebellion was triggered.
The King was also betrayed by his Right Hand, Lord Tywin Lannister, for not accepting his daughter Cersei to marry Prince Rhaegar and making his son and heir Ser Jaime become the Kingsguard. Tywin brought his army against King's Landing and despite being Kingsguard, Jaime killed Aerys Targaryen as he was threatened by the King to kill his own father for him. Hence Jaime was given the name "King Slayer".
Since then the Targaryen dynasty has been cut off but his only daughter, Princess Daenerys, is hoping to restore it with an army from Essos. Aegon V Targaryen King Aegon V Targaryen is not shown in the Game of Throne series as he is already dead.
Also known as 'Egg' and 'Aegon the Unlikely', because he was the fourth son of a fourth son, which makes him very unlikely to inherit the crown, he was crowned Fifth of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.
He's not so important so that's it about him. Aemon Targaryen Actor: Peter Vaughan Aemon Targaryen is the last and oldest Targaryen on Westeros but has dropped his name to become a Maester and Night's Watchman for decades.
After his father King Maekar Targaryen died, Aemon was going to be next in line for the Iron Throne as his eldest brother and heir Prince Aerion died while drinking wildfire, believing that he was going to turn into a dragon. But Aemon refused to become King so his younger brother Aegon V took his place instead.
Aemon is said to be over a hundred years old and has long gone blind but his memories of his past are sharp. Rhaella Targaryen Queen Rhaella Targaryen is not seen in the Game of Throne series as she is already dead.
She was the sister-wife of King Aerys II Targaryen. That was the tradition of the Targaryens - brothers and sisters got married to keep the blood line Targaryen pure.
According to the books, Aerys and Rhaella never loved each other and Aerys was physically abusive to her.
After the death of her eldest son, Prince Rhaegar, during Robert's Rebellion, Rhaella fled with her younger son Prince Viserys to Dragonstone where she died giving birth to Princess Daenerys. Rhaegar Targaryen Prince Rhaegar Targaryen is not seen in the Game of Throne series as he is already dead.
He was the eldest son and heir of King Aerys II and Queen Rhaella Targaryen, holding the title as the Prince of Dragonstone.
He sparked the civil war Robert's Rebellion by capturing Lyanna Stark of Winterfell. No one exactly knows why he did it. Possibly because he fell in love with her.
However he was already married to Princess Elia and had two children with her.
He was killed by Lyanna's fiance Lord Robert Baratheon in the Battle of the Trident by a massive struck from Robert's warhammer. The result scattered the rubies on Rhaegar's armor, which fell into the River Trident. The battlefield was called the Ruby Ford afterwards. Elia Martell Princess Elia Martell is not seen in the Game of Throne series as she is already dead.
She was the wife of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and was born from the House Martell in Dorne.
Her marriage to Rhaegar was arranged by his father, King Aerys II Targaryen, which infuriated his Right Hand Tywin Lannister, as he planned to marry his daughter Cersei to Rhaegar, and caused him to ransack King's Landing.
Elia was raped and killed by Ser Gregor Clegane along with her two young children. Rhaenys Targaryen Princess Rhaenys Targaryen is not seen in the Game of Throne series as she is already dead.
She was the only daughter of Prince Rhaegar and Princess Elia Targaryen.
During Robert's Rebellion, her father was killed in battle, and the Lannisters attacked King's Landing and killed off the Targaryen's.
Rhaenys was killed by Lord Tywin's knight, Ser Amory Loch, by being stabbed fifty times. That's too much for an innocent four year old. Even Lord Tywin found that too harsh. Aegon Targaryen Prince Aegon Targaryen is not seen in the Game of Throne series as he is dead.
He was the only son of Prince Rhaegar and Princess Elia Targaryen.
During Robert's Rebellion, his father was killed in battle and the Lannisters ransacked King's Landing, killing off the Targaryens.

During Robert's Rebellion, his father and eldest brother Prince Rhaegar, were killed and his mother fled with him to Dragonstone for safety where she died giving birth to his younger sister Princess Daenerys.
After she died, Viserys and Daenerys were smuggled to the Free Cities where they were raised.
He spent years looking for an army to help him take his throne and arranged Daenerys to marry the warlord of the Dothraki tribe, Khal Drogo, as a deal to help him get his crown.
Things didn't go according to his plan when Viserys grew impatient and demanded Khal Drogo to give him his crown. Drogo gave him a crown - of molten gold - which killed Viserys instantly. And as he died, Daenerys admitted that he was not to be a true Targaryen king, as they don't die from fire. Daenerys Targaryen Actor: Emilia Clarke Originally, Tamzin Merchant was going to take the role of Daenerys but the role was recast.
Princess Daenerys Targaryen, also known as "Dany" by her older brother Prince Viserys, "Daenerys Stormborn", and "The Silver Queen", is the youngest and only surviving daughter of King Aerys II and Queen Rhaella Targaryen.
Her titles are styled as Head of the Targaryen House, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea (by the Dothraki), Breaker of Chains, The Mother of Dragons, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms and the Protector of the Realm. Another mouthful!
She was born in Dragonstone at the end of Robert's Rebellion, when the noble houses Stark, Tully, Baratheon and Arryns fought against her father's people and the Lannisters drove them out and sacked King's Landing. When she was born, a nasty storm came, which is why she is sometimes called "Daenerys Stormborn".
Rhaella died after giving birth to her and she and Viserys were smuggled to the Free Cities where they were raised.
She was sold by Viserys into a marriage with the warlord of the Dothraki tribe, Khal Drogo, to support Viserys with an army to take the Iron Throne.
As a wedding present, she received three stones that are actually dragon eggs.
Before she was married, Viserys constantly controlled her, hitting her when he was angry. This made Daenerys meek and malleable.
However with her time spent with her husband and his people, Daenerys becomes more confident and her beliefs of being the rightful Queen becomes stronger, even though traditionally it's supposed to be Viserys.
Viserys gets killed by Drogo after he threatened to take Daenerys' and her unborn child's life for his crown, and being the last Targaryen, Daenerys intends to take the Iron Throne.
Daenerys lost her husband and child by a godswife, as a revenge for the Dothraki who attacked her village. She burnt her along with Drogo on a pyre as punishment.
She hatched the three eggs by placing them on Drogo's burning pyre before walking in it herself to claim them. The three dragons are first seen in the world for hundreds of years making Daenerys the "Mother of Dragons".
Now she has taken action, raising a large army from Astapor and Yunkai, and planning to march towards Westeros. Drogon is the largest and most aggressive of the three dragons. He is named after Daenerys' husband, Khal Drogo. Viserion is named after Daenerys' brother Prince Viserys. Rhaegal is named after Daenerys' eldest brother, Prince Rhaegar, whom she never met for he died before she was born. He considered to be one of the youngest khals with the biggest khalasar (land) to be ever known.
He was arranged to marry Princess Daenerys Targaryen by her brother Prince Viserys, as a deal to help him get the Iron Throne.
At one point Viserys grew impatient with Drogo and demanded him to give his crown, threatening Drogo's wife and unborn child's life. Drogo gave him a crown - of melted gold - which killed Viserys instantly.
Daenerys had attempted assassinations sent by King Robert Baratheon from Westeros and since then, Drogo had promised Daenerys to ride alongside her, defeat the Baratheons and place their son, who was prophesied as the "Stallion Who Mounts the World", on the Iron Throne.
He invaded a Lhazareen village to take slaves for the invasion and took a small wound, which developed into a fever and put him into a coma.
He was treated by a captured Lhazareen godswife, Mirri Maz Durr, who tricked Daenerys with a promise to save his life by sacrificing her unborn son. Daenerys gave birth to a stillborn child but that did not make Drogo better - he was still a vegetable. So Daenerys suffocated him with a pillow to pass the suffering and burned him along with the traitorous godswife on a pyre, where she also hatched her dragon eggs.
He was last seen as an illusion of Daenerys', holding their baby son. Rhaego He is only shown as an illusion as he is dead.
He was the son of Princess Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo but was stillborn after birth.
His death was involved in a blood magic ritual, performed by the Lhazareen godswife, Mirri Maz Duur, as a cure for Khal Drogo's coma.
He was reported to be looking real nasty after birth and was the price paid for Khal Drogo's life, which actually didn't make a lot of difference for Drogo.
Daenerys sees Drogo and her son in an illusion. Rhaego is seen as an adorable healthy baby boy.

He doesn't tell his mother's name but acknowledges that she worked in a tavern before she died when he was a child.
When he was old enough, an unknown lord paid him an apprentice fee so that he could learn to become a blacksmith and became an apprentice for Tobho Mott in the capital of King's Landing.
Soon he got kicked out as Tobho could not afford him any longer and decided to join the Night's Watch, a military order that guards the Northern Borders on the Wall. He was one of Yoren's latest recruits when he met Princess Arya Stark, who was on a run from King's Landing.
When King Robert died, his widow, Queen Cersei Lannister, ordered the Gold Cloaks, the royal soldiers, to kill every "bastard" child of Robert, including Gendry, even though he didn't know where he came from.
However Arya saved him and has been remained unidentified by everyone.
They got ambushed by Lannister soldiers who killed Yoren and taken to Lord Tywin Lannister in Harrenhal. They later escaped again and met a group of bandits called the Brotherhood Without Banners. Gendry decided to join them but was taken by Red Priestess Melisandre to his uncle Lord Stannis Baratheon in Dragonstone. Balon Greyjoy Actor: Patrick Malahide Lord Balon Greyjoy is Lord Reaper of Pyke, Lord of the Iron Islands and Head of the Greyjoy House.
Balon declared himself King of the Iron Islands and rebelled against the Iron Throne to revive the "Old Way", which was traditional to those who are "ironborn" and once led them to rule much of the western coast of Westeros. This led to a bloody war known as the Greyjoy Rebellion.
He lost his two elder sons, Rodrik and Maron, during the war.
Balon lost the war to King Robert Baratheon and Lord Eddard Stark and was forced to bend his knee before them. As punishment, Eddard took his third son and heir, Theon, away from him as a hostage for nearly a decade.
After having his son back, he plans to rebel again but with the disappointment by Theon's lack of strength from staying at the Starks too long. Alannys Harlaw Lady Alannys Harlaw is not seen in the Game of Throne series but that does not mean she is dead.

Theon Greyjoy Actor: Alfie Allen Prince Theon Greyjoy is the youngest son and heir of Lord Balon and Lady Alannys Greyjoy.
He was born in Pyke and was taken as a hostage of the Stark House in Winterfell when he ten years old, after Balon surrendered the Greyjoy Rebellion.
Rather than being treated like a prisoner, Lord Eddard Stark was kind to Theon and entitled him to become the next Warden of the North after him. Even his eldest son Prince Robb and Theon were best friends.
Ten years later, King Robb sends Theon back to his dad as a spy to check on whether Balon is still planning against the Iron Throne. However, as a way to show himself as the heir of Balon, Theon turned against Robb by snatching Winterfell from Robb's brother, Prince Brandon, under Balon's orders. He calls himself Prince of Winterfell and gets to even more trouble by stating he has killed Bran and his younger brother, Prince Rickon, even though they actually escaped and the bodies were poor farm orphans.
His plans to seize more of the North gets cut short as he gets captured and tortured by his own soldiers, including a mysterious man from the North.
Theon states that he has tried so hard to impress his father, which has all lead to a mess, and later regrets in betraying the Starks, calling Eddard his true father. Yara Greyjoy Actor: Gemma Whelan Princess Yara Greyjoy is the only daughter of Lord Balon and Lady Alannyse Greyjoy.
After her two eldest brothers died and her youngest brother, Theon, was taken by the Starks as a hostage, Yara lived on her own with her father in Pyke, who treated her like his only son, teaching her how to command and fight. This is unusual for women in the ironborn culture.
That's all about her. Greyjoy House
