Bob Marley was born on Febuary 6th, 1945 in Nine Mile, Saint Ann, Jamaica
His full birth name was Robert Nesta Marley
Born to Cedella Malcolm and Captain Norval Sinclair Marley.
When Robert was 10 years old his father died of a heart attack (age 70)
Bob had two brothers named

Bob Marley, was a strong supporter of Marijuana or "Herb" as it was known in Rastafarian culture
He was a believer in the plant's meditational, spiritual, and healing abilities and didn't smoke it just for recreational purposes or to get high.
In 1960, Marley started his singing career.
In 1961, Marley cuts first single "Judge Not" with producer Leslie Kong
In 1962, Marley, Peter McIntosh, and Neville Livingston settle on the group name The Wailing Wailers.
In 1963, The Wailers's first single "Simmer Down" becomes an overnight sensation in Jamaica.
In 1964, the Wailing Wailers top the Jamaican singles charts for the first time, selling more than 80,000 copies of the ska song, Simmer Down.
Bob's Family
Married with Rita Anderson at 1966
Had several children, three with his wife Rita, two adopted from Rita's previous relationships, and several with other women
A few of his children became musicians
Ziggy and Damian Marley continue to make music to this day

In 1970, Bob Marley founds the Tuff Gong record label.
In 1972, Bob meet Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records.
In 1974, The Wailers group grow and change.
In 1976, Marley survives an attempt on his life, and he moves to England.
In 1977, Bob sends for rival Jamaican political activists to meet in London to discuss the peace efforts in Jamaica, which includes the staging of the “ One Love “ peace concert to end political division
In 1978, The One Love Peace Concert is held in Jamaica.
Later Years
In 1979, Bob builds himself a professional recording studio
In 1981, Bob is awarded Jamaica's third highest honor, the Jamaican Order of Merit (O.M.). Same year, He dead because cancer.
Robert Nesta Marley’s state funeral service is held at Jamaica’s National Arena in Kingston and concluded in Nine Miles, Jamaica.
