Machito was born in Havana, Cuba on February 1, 1908. He died on April 19, 1984. He was a singer.

Celia Cruz was born in Havana, Cuba on October 21, 1925. She died on July 16, 2003. She was a singer.

Bebo Valdes was born on October 9, 1918 in Quivican, Cuba. He died on March 22. 2013. He was a composer.

The purpose of music in Cuba

In the late 1800s a religion called Santeria spread through out Cuba and other islands. It influenced the islands music. I caused most songs to be made about colors and emotions.
