Spreadsheets... Spreadsheets were invented to work out long,
repeatative and complicated calculations. Spreadsheets can handle all of the financial
calculations for a large business, they can be
used to work with statistics and to calculate
probability or other statistical information. A formula is used to do any calculation on spreadsheets. It can be useed for simple or complex sums. the formula must start with a = to tell the spreadsheet its a calculation. spreadsheets can also be used as
charts or graphs, they make the
content much easier to read and
tell what is going on. functions are a set of words like SUM (which will add up the set of numbers and give you a answer.) AVERAGE (that will give you the average of a rage of numbers.) There are lots of functions, some you will use and need, however there are lots most people will never need or use. all these functions can be put into a formula. e.g =SUM(E1:B3)
