Israel By Pablo Labbate Intro Israel, a beautiful, exotic, religious, cultural, and very interesting country. To some referred as ‘The Holy Land’, it is home to one of world’s largest religions, and full of important features both human and natural.
Jerusalem Capital of Israel Location Israel is located in southwest Asia, which is north east of the continent of Africa with the longitude 31 or 30 degrees north and longitude of 34 or 45 degrees East. It is south of Lebanon, west of Jordan, north of Egypt, and east of the Mediterranean Sea. Absolute and Relative Location Size Israel, not being a big country at all, is almost the same size as Panama, this, Israel, is only about 290 miles in length and 85 miles across at its widest point. Therefore you can travel Israel from one tip to another in car in just 9 hours, nothing compared to other countries. Geographical Features -The Negev desert in the south
-The mountain ranges of the Galilee, Carmel, and the Golan in the north.
-The Israeli Coastal Plain on the Mediterranean shores, which is home to seventy percent of the nation’s population.
-East of the central highlands, lies the Jordan Rift Valley, which forms a small part of the 4040-mile long Great Rift Valley. The Jordan River runs along the Jordan Rift Valley, from Mount Hermon through the Hulah Valley and the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea, which is the lowest point on the surface of the Earth.
-Long and narrow, Israel has a huge variety of topographical features ranging from forested highlands and fertile green valleys to mountainous deserts, and from the coastal plain to the semitropical Jordan Valley and Dead Sea
The Negev The Dead Sea The Jordan Rift Valley Mount Hermon Culture and Religion In Israel mountains, plains, fertile land, and desert are often only minutes apart. Although approximately half of the land is semi-arid, the variety of features encompassed in Israel is that much of an entire continent! Architecture Architecture of Israel is composed of many different styles of building brought in by those who have occupied the country over the ages, sometimes modified to suit the local climate and landscape. Fortified Crusader castles, Islamic madrassas, Byzantine churches, Templer houses, Bauhaus-style modernist buildings, Arab arches and minarets, Russian Orthodox onion domes, and soaring glass-sided skyscrapers are all part of the architecture of Israel. The coastal plain runs parallel to the Mediterranean Sea and is composed of a sandy shoreline, bordered by stretches of fertile farmland extending up to 25 miles inland. In the North, expanses of sandy beach are occasionally punctuated by jagged chalk and sandstone cliffs. The coastal plain is home to more than half of Israel's 7 million people and includes major urban centers, deep-water harbors, most of the country's industry, and a large part of its agriculture and tourist facilities. Israel's natural resources are timber, potash, copper ore, natural gas, phosphate rock, magnesium bromide, clays, and sand. these resources are found all over the country, whereas the coast of the Mediterranean, to in the caves and mountains. Imports and Exports Statistics Israel imports raw materials , military equipment , investment goods , fuels , grain , and consumer goods from the Us, Japan, and Europian countries. Israel export farm products, such as olive oil, wine, and grains to Italy, USA, and other European and South American countries. Movement is mostly made by planes which fly onto any direction, or the boats which go off from the Mediterranean sea west onto the Atlantic Ocean or countries bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. Some weapons were initiated in Israel like the uzi, although most were imported. Israel also produces 95 percent of its own food requierments, which include meat, grain, wheat, coffee, cocoa, and sugar. Problems and etc Israel, being the home to nearly 7.4 million people, has great needs of water for daily use. But a large amount of their water supply goes to the large farming community in Israel. Which looses a lot of water, which is drastically needed. To try and solve this problem farmers have boon looking into different types of irrigation such as drip irrigation which saves more water and is more efficient unlike conventional types such as surface or flood irrigation or sprinklers. One of the largest problems currently in Israel is the water supply. For almost the past decade there has been a major drought in Israel that has been depleting their main water sources. The land also, is important to live, therefore humans adapt or modify the environment in Israel. People adapt by making houses according to the landscape, and modifying it by irrigating the land since it doesn't rain a lot. Another problem Israel is facing, is its discussions and missiles with Palestine. The US is allies with Israel, and so is France and many other countries. Cuisine and People Israeli cuisine is one of the most diverse and exquisite of Asia, and the most exquisite of southwest Asia. The cuisine has adopted, and continues to adapt, elements of various styles of Jewish cuisine, particularly the Mizrahi, Sephardic, and Ashkenazi styles of cooking. It incorporates many foods traditionally eaten in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines, and foods such as falafel, hummus, shakshouka, couscous, and za'atar are now thought to be synonymous with Israeli cuisine. It is very rich in flavors, as the food is very special and delicious.
Israel is also full of famous world wide stars and biblical, important figures such as cinema's great, young actress, Natalie Portman, and Abraham, Moses, Solomon, and David, characters of the bible and ancient men. Thanks for watching! Israel, full of rich food, interesting features, dazzling information, outstanding history, impressing architrcture, and amaizing characteristics both human and natural. Now that you have learned about Israel, come and experience it!
THANKSS FOR WATCHING In Israel, the languages spoken are Hebrew, Arab, and some people speak English although almost none. Israel's main religion is Judaism, which as explained in The Bible, made Israel the home for Jews, the safe place where they could stay and live. Now, of course, many other religions are found in Israel like Atheism, Buddhism, and many more. Russian Orthodox Dome Jerusalem Wall
