You know that thing you're avoiding? That's probably what you need to work on.
Look how far you've come?
What to do next? Check your targets!
Stretch Yourself
Ruthless Focus on Targets Delivers Results
Celebrate Success
Have 3 well-defined targets each week. Read them over every day.

Plan and mark with your targets in front of you.

Seek help from your mentors and tutor regularly
Keep a diary, blog, tweet, Insta or FB

Look at your personal profile, why do you want to teach? Why are you so amazing?

When something good happens, shout about it! Tell everyone, tell yourself. I call those "punch the air" days.

Because "kick the dog" days are coming. On those days, remember the good times to get you through.

Start ILA
Be seen, be heard, be loved!
Get out there!
Get started. Even if it is only to write an introduction.

Brian Tracy, world renowned success coach, said, “Once the goals are programmed into the subconscious mind, it will take a power of its own to achieve the goals automatically.”

In other words, even just half an hour thinking about the ILA will help you deliver it later.

Read the brief. Think how you are going to baseline your target pupils: written assessment? Observations? Exit tickets? Kahoot/Socrative (see later).
The teachers that drop out, struggle or fail seem to be those who sit in the staff room planning instead of observing.

If in doubt about how to spend your frees, observe, mark, plan in that order.

Make friends with everyone, do small kindnesses all day. Especially the technicians, repro assistants, caretakers, school office staff. They do amazing jobs for little thanks and you *will* need them!

Oh and this all meets S8 - wider school responsibility.

You can only succeed by stepping out of your comfort zone. But then this happens...
“If you decide that you’re going to do only the things you know are going to work, you’re going to leave a lot of opportunity on the table.”
