Timeline of Historic Events that happened during The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman 1. The Civil War Billy Yank Vs. Johny Reb, the Civil War took place at the beginning of the book. This is where she meets Colonel Brown, where she gets her first name, Jane Brown. 2. Emancipation
Proclamation This happens right after the Civil War ended, setting all the slaves free. It was this that sent Jane and Ned off for Ohio. 3. Reconstruction Fixing up things in the old south after the war. It was here that the beero people and soldiers were everywhere in the south, making sure that the ex-slaves were being treated right and had places to save. 4. Supreme Court Issues "Seperate But Equal." 5. Spanish-American War America's war with Spain in Cuba. Ned took part in this war. 6. Rosa Parks A famous african lady, famous for refusing to give up her seat on the bus for a white man to sit. 4. Supreme Court Rules "Seperate But Equal" legal. 5. Spanish-American War The war between the U.S. and Spain in Cuba. Ned went away in fought in this war. 6. Rosa Parks The famous african lady who gave hope to millions of other African Americans for refusing to give up her seat on the bus. Thanks for watching!
