crash-landed on the surface of the moon.

Gagarin, the
first man in
space orbited
around the Earth in a

Exploration of space began when famous astronomers such as Galileo started thinking about the stars and the things that could be found beyond Earth.
Conclusion
Space exploration is advancing with such a pace that I believe Winwood Reade rightly quoted "Mankind will migrate into space, cross the airless Saharas which seperate planet from planet and sun from sun".
