this suggest that if we decrease gun ownership then the suicide and homicide rates will decrease.
Thomas Jefferson stated that the right to bear arms is necessary for the citizens to protect themselves from the "tyranny in government" meaning, the people needed guns as a last line of defense from there own government.
this ensured that the government's power was truely from "the consent of the governed" The Government
I II Reasons against gun control Main Point I: Why do people want to enforce gun control? By limiting the number of guns, which would involve taking some away, you leave citizens vulnerable and unprotected.
even if you took not all but most guns away from citizens, guns would still flow throughout the United States illegally, and suicide and homicide numbers would barely decrease. protection from what?
