*Tree locust *Locust are mainly named by their purpose, color, or location. For example: Swarm in Madagascar March 27th, 2013 Locusts *Locust fly in swarms and can grow up to 6 inches. *They typically spend 13 - 17 years underground. Facts *They needed more than 41 million to fight the locust. *Half of the country was infested by hoppers and locusts. *80 percent of Madagascar live on less than a dollar a day. *60 percent of the island is at risk of hunger Pictures/Diagrams
