They had a hole in the roof and beneath it a basin which catches the rain fall. The wealthy live with the whole family. DOMUS The wealthy people had alot of slaved cooked meals. They used expensive spices that traders brought from thousands of miles away. FOOD/MEALS apartments/hovels The poor people lived in apartments made of wood with the whole family. They also lived in mud bricks hovels. They were very crowded in the small apartment. food/meals The emperor gave them bread and grains to eat. clothes The poor people of Rome wore wool outfits and flip flops. They wore clothes like we wear today.
