The Study A particular professor at a nearby university
has taken interest in that particular area of the city, he wants to create a program to help these teens. Adrian is a young man that lives
with his mother and two sisters in a two bedroom house. He lives in a poor section of the city in which high school dropouts are common. He is a top student. He sends out a letter and a survey for the students and their parents to fill. The meeting is held on a Thursday at
6 P.M
with both parents and students present At the meeting some
parents discussed the
issue of stereotyping
and racial discrimination. Dr. Waun
changes
the way he plans
to help this community. With the help of
the parents Dr. Waun
creates a tutoring program
and a sexual education class. Adrian and his
mother feel discriminated
while filling out the survey. Adrian gets a scholarship
for a prestigious school.
His mother returns to
school to become a
nurse, with the help of
Dr. Waun Dropout and
pregnancy rates
change dramatically. Dr. Waun and the parents
begin meeting weekly after
that meeting.
